Love my Ioniq 5

Overall, I love my Ioniq 5. It is comfortable, fun to drive and I feel very safe in this car. Even though the car is excellent, I am nervous about the car due to the way the dealerships lack service, responsiveness and knowledge about EV's.

Feels unsafe when weather conditions are rainy

Car is great other than rear window wiper missing and driving controls are turn knob and not up or down. Not having a remote truck opener is a surprise any style of car. Electrify America is not the best partner. There are not enough locations in Florida and stations are rarely working well.

Mileage range well below advertised.

Mileage range 50 miles below advertised at 100% charge with no satisfactory explanation from dealer or Hyundai despite multiple stays for multiple days at dealership. Nothing in Hyundai literature explains reason for deficit or how to improve it.

2022 Limited Ioniq 5 FOR THE WIN!!

Great first gen vehicle! Great look! 800V fast charge is a MUST!! PLEASE DON'T GO TO STUPID TESLA CHARGE PLUG!! Want to get the N version! NEED MOAR POWA BABY!! Would like to have a Sentry Mode in case of collisions.

Charging issues.

Charging issues. Battery fist took more than one hour to charge at a supercharger. Would only charge at 56KW. After it was fixed, later the 12 volt battery stopped charging. The car just stopped on the road with 90% charge and had to be towed. Been in shop almost three weeks in the first year of ownership.

APPARENTLY HYNDAI DOESN'T KNOW WHAT AN IONIQ 5 IS.

Wasted too much time on this already. You don't even recognize that electric cars don't need oil changes. PULEAZE Oh, I need to type more to stop typing. Great review design. Carry on! Here, some more letters: Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe. All mimsy were the borogroves and the mome raths outgabe.

Almost Perfect!

The ride of this EV SUV is great, so is the range with each charge, but be careful driving in inclement weather because there is NO rear window wiper. Not sure where the design team lives, but in my part of the world it rains a lot and driving in the rain is a safety hazard. Hopefully Hyundai will come up with a retrofit rear window wiper and make this an absolute 10!

Excellent!

I enjoy my Ionic5 very very much! I have driven it less than I anticipated, due to being at another domestic location for work and because of traveling Internationally this past year. I anticipate I will drive and enjoy my Ionic5 much more in the coming months and years.

Great car

Love every aspect of the car. Great styling and handling. Love not having and ICE vehicle. Love fast charging when on a road trip. HDA and safty features are important for my age. Best car I've ever owned.

Utility plus fun

This car is luxury and fun combined. The interior is upscale and incredibly comfortable. The car has amazing pick up and handling. I moved from having a mini van and so I needed big enough cargo space for still buying and transporting large objects and boxes. I have found the cargo area very spacious.

First EV and great choice

Great vehicle in the now crowded EV market. Fast and fun to drive. Lots of folks comment on the cars unique look. Would highly recommend this vehicle to others looking for a reasonably priced electric vehicle.

For being first all electric, it’s fine.

We wanted to switch to electric. We knew the price was high, but we thought we were getting a luxury vehicle. Although the car is great, a lot of things were cheaply built and immediately fell apart. Hyundai dealerships. Mostly none are suitable or knowledgeable on the new electric cars. So a lot of times you are there arguing with dealerships and have to rely mostly on online boards of other EV owners.

Hyundai Ioniq5 1st Anniversary Review

Looking back at my first year of ownership of my Ioniq5 I can't believe how lucky to have a vehicle that has lived up to very high expectations. From performance, reliability, safety, electronics, comfort and peace of mind I could not have made a better purchase.

Awesome ev experience

Should totally be considered when looking for an ev, difficultly may be availability in a particular geographic region. Perfect for 2nd vehicle or retired person. Installing a charger at home is most convenient

Peppy, good-looking EV

I love my Ioniq 5! It's a zippy car that's fun to drive. It also looks cool and is spacious inside. I haven't had a single issue with it. I often get questions about it as people are intrigued by its looks. A highly recommend it!

Everything we wanted in an electric vehicle

A great stylish electric car. Comfort, decent mileage, well designed. Need better service from some Hyundai service departments. One dealer said I would have to wait 2 to 5 days after I brought my vehicle in before they could get to it. That I would be put in a line for service and had to leave it there in order to keep my place in line!

Best car for the money but early 2022 model needs reliability improvements

This is an excellent car for the price paid in terms of interior space and styling. The instant power available from the all electric drive system is very fun to drive. The exterior has clean smooth lines and is uncomplicated. However, the sound system is basic at best and sounds like everything comes from one central speaker instead of a stereo surround system. There is no rear window washer which leads to limiting your rear vision. The main Charge Controller unit has been failing on may of the cars and Hyundai has not instituted a recall yet. This has caused me to lose faith in the company. My controller just died two days ago after a year of trying to diagnose the problem with many times I had to jump start the car. If this was fixed I’d consider this car again since it’s still one of the best on the market.

Does not charge at 48 amps, that is a lie.

The car is a nice car. Hyundai are terrible. I would not recommend a hyundai unless you are paid to take it. Terrible ownership experience. You will regret it. Even if they did not mark it up 10k at the dealership it is still not worth the ownership experience.
