Best vehicle in a lifetime of car ownership
I've purchased over 10 cars for personal use in my six decades of driving. These have included a number of styles and manufacturers and each has been owned for a number of years and often passed along to other family members. Far and away, our 2025 Ioniq 5 Limited is the best and most satisfying of them all. Performance, features, styling, flexibility, quietness are wonderfully implemented. A quiet conversation can be equally heard by front and back seat occupants. Roof rails and our Thule rack let me easily carry kayaks, skis, or sheets of plywood. I love its flexibility. It is the Swiss Army Knife of motor vehicles!
Our Ioniq 5 was one of the first off the line at the new Georgia plant and a mid-cycle refresh of the original design. To get all this right is no small task and I was prepared for at least a few problems. One was a creaking sound from the tailgate. That has taken awhile to silence, but our local Hyundai dealer has been very cooperative and persistent in resolving this problem. The 12 volt battery failed early and without warning. Hyundai upgraded it to a superior AGM battery. Both problems were warranty covered.
