nice car...…bad experience with MI dealers, nice styling, very expensive for electrical car. If I knew HYUNDAY doesn't care about customers in Michigan state, I will never bought the car.....VERY DISAPOINTED

Ioniq 5 Still in for Repairs after more than Two Weeks

Ioniq 5 is a really cute car. My one year old car had to be taken to the dealership on a rollback. It has been there for almost two weeks. There has been an issue with getting parts. The dealership has been very kind, but I have never experienced something like this with a car before.

Fun and stylish

The range is as advertised. The dual motor AWD is extremely fun to drive and surpassed expectations for a midsized SUV. The ride is really smooth and the vehicle feels hundreds of pounds lighter while accelerating and taking curves.

IONINQ5 is a good car but has a few flaws

IONIQ5 is a fun car to drive. Although super fast charging is no longer available Electrify America, it still charges faster than most. Hyundai needs to fix some annoying rattling sounds (trunk, seatbelts), and use better plastic that easily scuff inside.

Great car with a few challenges

Design and efficiency with a far superb charging system are the pillars of the Ioniq5. Super fast charging capability and the best combination of size, roominess, ease of access and great overall value. AWD works well and when temps are above 50 degrees I get more than the OEM range (285-290). All evs sboukdnhave heated seats front and rear and heated steering wheels. Paint quality and hood design mean excessive stone chips. One of the few times I’d recommend paint protection film.

The Ioniq 5 is a great car!

I love my Ioniq 5. It's easy and fun to drive. The safety features are exactly what I needed. It's got plenty of room for passengers and in the trunk. The range is very good. The style is unique and I often get questions and complements on the vehicle. It is exactly the EV I was hoping to get.

No infrastructure-road anxiety is real

The infrastructure is not in place to support owning an E.V. at this time. The concept is a novel one but until there is a charging station in very town we have no business buying E.V.s it took me 32 House getting home on a trip that a gas car is 6 hours.

Beautiful car, terrific performance, some notable flaws

I have never owned a car that has received as much positive attention. Beautiful and breathtakingly fast. The lack of a rear wiper and USB-C ports are a major oversight. This should be remediated ASAP and be part of a recall as they are absolutely necessary.

My first electric car is a joy

This car provided everything we wanted and more. Easy to enter and leave. Roomy, especially in the back. Great performance. We do most of our charging on household electric current. No special plug. High performance and great fuel economy.

Love it but broken

I miss my Ioniq 5 terribly. Up until a month ago, no issues then a 3 part main battery failure. It’s been in the shop for a month now. Hyundai service stopped calling as well. Been renting a Tesla- charging is much easier. Honestly, I just want my car back- and no ETA.

A great vehicle for around town

The 22 Ioniq 5 SE is a great vehicle for an "around towner." Without battery preconditioning it is seriously limited during winter time operations...serious range reduction and slow "DC Fast Charging" rates.

2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5 RWD SEL

This is a comfortable, quiet, and functional EV. It has very nice styling inside and out. Like other EVs, power delivery is smooth and quiet. Vehicle range is at the higher end for an SUV style vehicle; however, cold weather lowers vehicle range and also affects charging rate at public fast-charger stations. I had one major mechanical failure within my first year of ownership which took nearly a month to get fixed. Of course, the repair was covered by the warranty. If Hyundai can iron out some of the reliability issues in 2023 and beyond, this will be a great car in the small SUV segment.

Wonderful vehicle

We bought the vehicle to replace a plug in hybrid to get more interior and cargo space. The lack of a drive train and gas tank make the interior spacious with a wide wheel base and the trunk space is much improved over the previous plug in hybrid.

A vehicle built for me.

I commute a total of 60 mins a day and I wanted my commute to be enjoyable. The most comfortable seat I have had. Un-interuptted visibility, I feel like I can see everything (no obstruction of the rear view mirror). Tons of space, I can fit two road bikes in the back! On my active days I have tennis equipment and biking stuff in the car with me and it's great. Just finished the 8th snowiest winter on record in MN and my SE AWD performed perfectly. The Snow Mode is very appropriate for snowy climates. I have driven to longish trips and the charging in 20-30 mins was excellent. In the Summer, based on my driving habits, I get about 250 miles at 80% charge. In the Winter I get about 195-200 miles at 80%. Still wonderful! I will be adding a receiver for a bike rack but once that is done, I'll have a vehicle for me! Tennis, biking, camping (desire), espresso making induction cooking machine!

First electric vehicle and I love it

I love the look of this car and how it handles. The Ioniq 5 ticks all the major boxes from fun to drive, to styling, to range. My gripes are minor but no rear windshield wiper tops the list. I have driven over 9,000 miles and would not hesitate to buy one again.

IONIQ 5, the vehicle of the future, available today

The vehicle has superb acceleration and control. It recharges (DC) faster than advertised in moderate temperatures, slower than advertised in (outside) freezing temperatures. Charging times improved with the pre-heating option. The range far exceeds advertised in local city driving, over 370 miles per charge. In (70 MPH) highway driving it does worse than advertised, around 270 miles vice 305. The vehicle looks great. The exterior sound, when driving at low speeds, in combination with the futuristic styling have resulted in a steady stream of positive comments. The entertainment and driver assist capabilities have made this a true joy to drive.

Poor purchase experience and now it is in the shop for a month

In general, I love the Ioniq 5. But the ICCU failed and it has been there for about a month. Dealership charged $10k OVER MSRP, unlike Ford. I like driving the car. I love the acceleration and electric is the only kind of car I will ever purchase again.

Excellent vehicle, service sucks!

Enjoyed my 2022 Ioniq 5 for eleven months and then took it in for a battery conditioning software update. Tried two dealers, both failed to install update. The second dealer reported the ICCU is broken and the vehicle had been rendered undrivable. Waiting on a back ordered part for 30 days and counting. Hyundai Customer Assistance is totally useless. They just call me once a week and update the ETA for the part. Has slipped from Mar 16 to Apr 5 to now Apr 7. Still no guarantee the part will come in. There are two local dealers with the part on hand but Hyundai says they can't convince them to part with it, but have no trouble making me wait for 40+ days!
