Love driving my Ioniq 5

Fun to drive. All electric so I am doing my bit for the environment. Cheaper to run than a gas powered vehicle. But it's not the car I use on long trips. The charging infrastructure needs to be vastly improved before I'll try a long trip again (over 250 miles) in this car

Big car. Exceeds EV range promised regularly.

It's just a great car, affordable as EVs go. So efficient, we get 340 miles range on full charge in non-highway driving. This survey is too darn long. I really like the car or I would not have finished it.

Great EV

This EV definitely earned the award of best SUV of the year in 2022. It's packed with all the great car features and great mileage for an EV. Charging speed is great as well (if you can find an Electrify America station that works as expected).

its almost there

i love how it looks and its features for the money but its build quality is very cheap, it could be improved a lot in my opinion. the vehicle has so much potential otherwise.. fix those bugs that drain the battery all the way making it an unreliable car..

unreliable withhuge issues and dealer unable to fix for a year

I love the styling of the car and many of the features but the car has had huge issues. it would not charge properly and had huge rattling noises for a year which necessitated multiple unsuccessful service calls and the company and dealership to acknowledging or fixing the problem despite my research pinpointing the issues. Hugely disappointing

Great electric car, first one I’ve ever owned

I bought this a year ago and I love it so far. Mileage could be better in the near but other than that no complaints. I can fit two car seats in the back seat and a stroller in the trunk no problem, which was one of the primary factors when I was looking for a new vehicle

Style, performance and ease of use EV

The Ioniq 5 is a game changer. The car is solid, quite, easy to drive and handles like a charm. The car has plent of room for 5 and luggage. The infotainment system is easy to use and has the right amount of manual buttons. The controls on the steering wheel are simple and intuitive. The self drive is almost there with a few updates. I hope the enable over the air updates to the system. Most of all the car feels safe.

Loved the car but too many serious problems for us

We paid a lot for the car but were excited to own and E vehicle. When the weather got cold the 12 volt battery failed and caused a serious instrument software glitch. This has been reported to Hyundai. As months wore in the car made increasing noise and tailgate sounds. This was initially diminished by the service manager as may be just "rattling change" in the cupholder. Online forums I found many owners with the same issues - battery failures and noise. I took it to the dealer and they said Hyundai had a fix for the tailgate noise involving installing washers on the side gate latch bumpers. They said the problem was fixed. I drove it home. Same creaking and squeaking I have detailed in my survey. I could have taken it back for another try but confidence in the car at this point is too low. Sold it last week.

Best car we have ever owned

I did a great deal of research before settling on the Hyundai Ioniq 5. I expected it to a very good decision and it turned out to be better than I imagined. The car handles like a dream, and the Shooting Star exterior gets us lots of comments everytime we drive it, even one year later.

The Ioniq5 is an amazing car! We get great mileage on the battery. It drives smoothly and beautifully.

We absolutely love the Ioniq5! It handles beautifully, has a spacious interior, and fast pick up. We love the safety features. We love that we can choose some features to use and others not to use - like the lane assist cruise control - we don't have the lane assist on because we prefer not to use it, but love that we can use it if we want it.

First year and already have issue

Had the vehicle for one year exactly and lost power due to 12 volt. Took 4 hours for Hyundai to pick it up. Waiting over a week to get it fixed due to parts and I have no transportation. Dealer had no loaners.

Happy camper

Overall we’re very satisfied with the car. We’ve enjoyed it and have received many compliments from random strangers. It measured up to what we expected with no serious issues. After one year and 20k miles it’s been a pleasant experience for our first all electric vehicle. As time goes by I’m sure everyone will come to realize the value on owning an EV.

Best value for best performance car of its class. Very smooth and comfortable driving. Charging and mileage are very good. I recommend this car for anyone willing to reduce gas emissions and save life on earth

Too unreliable

A/c died in the first 4 months of ownership. A/c is also weak in general and never gets cold enough. Climate controls are not intuitive. Then car died altogether at month 11. Been waiting on repair parts for over 30 days now with no eta.

excellent experience

There is not much to complain about except for the navigation routing experience, which is bad. Other than that the comfort, quiet, roomy, driving experience have all been great. I am retired and I look for reasons to get into my car to drive. The only draw back is the USA charging network needs a lot of work. I have not yet gone on a long trip, and I worry about finding a working charger in my route.

Pretty car. Range only OK

The driving experience of the ioniq 5 is lovely and I get complements of the appearance from strangers. The range and charging speed both fall short of what was advertised. I am happy but not blown away.

Love the car but cannot get replacement ICCU.

Looks great, rides great, roomy and comfortable. Driving experience is very satisfying and home charging system make charging a breeze. Car is less than 1 year old but now at dealership over 30 days awaiting ICCU to replace.
