Bricks at 510 miles

It’s a great car….until it’s not. Only 500 mile in, it’s completely dead. An expensive brick. Towed to an overwhelmed and too busy to answer my calls dealership. 2.5 weeks later it’s supposedly now fixed. Supposedly

Everything you need in an EV

Coming from a Tesla…this has everything you need without all the Tesla baggage and build quality is superior. Great range and super fast charging with NACS plug.

Excellent example of electric vehicle

It's been fun to drive. I am slowly still figuring out all of the little features that is packed into this SUV. With rear seats down, I can fit a LOT of things. One time I had to pack multiple boxes and a hand truck and it was no problem.

Really great can for the cost - feel like I am the product though.

This is a great car. Fun to drive. Good features for the money. Comfortable. Feels safe and really grounded. Just two really major flaws. Advertising to me in the app and adding subscription features in the car. Get that garbage out of the car I paid for. Ridiculous. HDA2 (Highway drive Assist) - If this worked it would easily make the review 4 or 5 stars. As it is, it is unusable. It cannot tell I am looking straight ahead with eyes on road and hands at 10 and 2, so every 2-5 minutes it sounds an alarm and flashes, causing me to look away from road and directly down (away from road) at a sensor and shake wheel until it turns off. Maybe because I wear glasses? No idea, reddit forums suggest it is largely unusable for so many people and for many years. So, I would not suggest you buy this vehicle if that type of feature is important to you. It simply does not work. Some plasticky and creaky parts that look nice but super high build quality. Still totally reasonable. I am really disappointed that they took away digital key from SEL and also frustrated that there is no save seat position. This seems like sad thing to leave out since they have profiles for logging in and then to not have saves seat positions? I would gladly give up the profiles or even HDA2 since it does not work, for 2 saves seat positions.

It’s been a great car over the last 2900 miles. The route planner is pretty good, it’s quiet, comfortable and feels well built. My only two issues are the trunk handle is a bit loose and I wish the app offered widgets.

Great drive with a couple major oversights Hundai needs to address.

I've been pretty happy with my 2026 Ioniq 5 for the first few months I've had it. It's fun to drive, fast charging is actually fast, and home charging makes my wallet happy. Hyundai really needs to fix a few things, however. The driver attention system hates joy (it breaks every time I smile) and freaks out at night, and is nigh-unusable for the driving automation features unless I open my eyes so widely that they are about to fall out of my face. I have to resort to turning the associated drive assist features off completely for the majority of my driving. It's a shame, really. It needed a lot more calibration and testing before being put into a production vehicle. The capacitive touch sensing on the steering wheel is great, though, and is a major improvement over torque sensing. The lack of automatic locking when the driver walks away with the keys is a terrible design choice and lags behind other manufacturers. It's not hard to do, y'all. On the infotainment side, the maps are... acceptable but not great, and it commonly takes up to a minute or two to actually load the user profiles when starting the car, far far far too slow. Otherwise the infotainment system is pretty good, and Android Auto works great. Overall, though, the vehicle is really, really good and probably my favorite vehicle so far to drive and own. If/once Hyundai puts some more work into the driver attention system and polishes a couple rough edges, things will be nigh on perfect.

The digital screen with the temperature gauge and fan etc is VERY hard to read during daytime. It is a distraction to try to adjust things and potentially requires too much focus that should be spent looking at the road.
