Much exceeded expectations

We vacillated before finally pulling the trigger on an electric car. It's hard to explain just how much I love this vehicle. So comfortable.. enough luxury to make the advantages of the technology, a wash (although I'm really going to miss my heated steering wheel this winter). Driving safety features are excellent improvements on my 2019 RAV4 hybrid. Grandkids love the fact that there's no hump between the seats in the back and the trunk still has plenty room for their stuff. The range has been sufficient for every trip we have wanted to take locally and so far, only needed to charge in our garage. Love it!

Love everything except the shiny black face on the climate control panel. It is too reflective in daylight to see the control settings clearly. Big miss. Something less reflective such as a matte surface would be a big upgrade.

Great car, but...

This is a fantastic car in all respects.... except the ICCU failure issue. It's unfortunate that Hyundai is not taking the problem seriously. Not addressing the problem to fix it and only offering a extended warranty to replace it if it fails, does not give you the confidence to take the car on a long trip.... you just can't trust it. Around town where you at least you would be stranded close to home and your dealer you can live with it.

My 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 review August 2026

Nice all electric car. First time having an all electric. Acceleration is fast and smooth. Rear view mirror is different from what I am used to. The rear view mirror uses a camera on the back of the car so your view is totally not obstructed. Better vision for the most part. At night it blurs headlights from behind you so you are not getting blinded. I like having not to have to go to a gas station to fill up. Once you start using it, charging at home, you will enjoy the convenience.

love this car

I absolutely love this car. I only have two issues. First is that when I went on a long road trip, the a/c kept shutting off or would automatically switch to "driver only". and also, in the rear hatch, after I wash the car, there is a constant drip of water under one of the panels.

Perfect Car

This was our first electric car, so my wife and I were a bit nervous about all the new tech and features. Within a day or two, driving it felt normal, within a month or so I felt like I understood when and how to charge it (I had the default amperage set to "low" for a while and was charging slower than I needed to). The overall design of this specific car is all around great and we love it

2026 IONIQ 5 FWD Limited Review

I love the vehicle, especially many of the high-end features offered in the Limited trim line. There is one safety problem that occurred that you should be aware of though. The automated Forward Attention Warnings can give false positives. This occurred to me while driving on I-95 in DE. I was using the smart cruise control when the LFA and HDA systems automatically engaged. During this time the system started sending me "Eyes on the road" and "Hands on the wheel" warnings even though I had my hands firmly on the wheel and my eyes were on the road. I tried repositioning my hands and moving my head, but the warnings became more persistent until the system warned that the car would be shut down (while driving 65 mph on I-95!). I turned off the automated cruise control and this disabled the warnings, but this is clearly a problem you should warn your customers about. I haven't tried to reproduce the problem, but I believe the issue with my eyes is related to my use of prescription progressive lenses which may have anti-infrared coatings on them. Not sure why the hands on the wheel was a problem. The dealer has assured me the vehicle has the latest software updates, so that's not the issue. You need to look into this more!
