Fine mid-size SUV with lots of features and good gas mileage.

Good around town and good on a road trip. Comfortable to drive with adequate room. After 10,000+ miles the stated fuel economy is more than 56 MPG. The only missing feature that I note is an Emergency Break! What happens if I lose breaking ability? No downshift to lower gears is available. No manual way to stop the vehicle...

Would be 5 stars if it weren't for one very strange incident.

For the most part, I love this car. The mileage is good, the battery gets me around for most of my local driving. I had one, very strange incident that has me worried. I came out of a restaurant on a clear night after having parked the car an hour earlier. When I turned it on, I got a warning to check the front collision system. I could put it in gear, but it would not go when I pressed the pedal. There was nothing covering the sensor. For some reason it caused the cooling fan to run very high and that fan would not stop even when turning off the car. It drained my battery and left me stranded. I had to have it towed to the dealer who could not find anything wrong after they charged the battery. The computer was reset by the dead battery and lost all the codes. It makes me very nervous to think it could happen again at the worst time. I am considering trading it for that reason.

I love this car

I would’ve given it five stars except for the fact that the charge is only good for 31 miles. Also, I tried to charge the car at a Costco and the charger nozzle was different and I couldn’t do it.

Not happy with the transmission. It races up to very high rpm in city street driving. Dealer says nothing is wrong.

2024 Hyundai Tucson Limited Plug-in Hybrid

This car included every possible feature inside at this trim level, including safety and convenience. The exterior is pretty standard but clean and nicely designed to fit into the crowd. I consider the hybid and plug in aspects greta benefits for exceptional mileage and 40-odd daily electric local miles. A few things annoy me - cheap plastic inside that scrathes easily; windshield wipers cannot be raised and left up (icy conditions parking and cleaning annoyance, and finally the car has excessive audible reminders at every step of operation. Many things about the car delight me - I feel that the car interior and features compare to my old Lexus 450H, at a much better price point. One issue that Hyundai needs to address is the AC system had a faulty electronic part at less than 5,000 miles, which has been documented for 4 model years and not changed in their newer model years. Other than that, I have had no issues with car quality, comfort, driving ease or amentieis like audio, glass roof, automatic everything, etc. I was able to buy the vehicle at close to model year end - at the reduced price point it sold for, I feel like I gained a great vehicle at a reasonable price.

Love the hybrid aspect, concerned about overall quality

Happy that I have a hybrid - allows me the comfort of being able to use gas on roadtrips but almost exclusively run on electric - in my case solar - for daily use. Concerned that I had a major issue with the charging system very early in the car's life - what does this say about overall quality of the car? Happy that the issue was covered by warranty.

Nice but very little below the surface

The car functions as it should. Get about 30 miles all electric in the summer (gas needed to run heat in winter). Then average 28mpg on the highway in hybrid mode. Small gas tank requires frequent fill ups on trips. Car beeps at every thing including just backing up.

We'll never buy another Hyundai

When the car had only 3000 miles on it, suddenly one day it would barely run. It had to be towed to the dealer, who kept it for a month! The only diagnosis they could come up with was that the wiring connectors weren't tightened properly at the factory. After that, I felt like I can't trust this car. Next, we received a recall notice that the trailer hitch wiring is faulty, and that the car should be kept outside in case of fire. We're doing that, but it's very inconvenient. Our next door neighbor's car was stolen out of their driveway, and we're pretty annoyed that we have to keep our car outside when there's a possibility of theft. It's inconvenient for charging as well. We have to drive the car into the garage to charge it, then make sure to drive it out as soon as it's done. On days with bad weather, I can't get into the car from the garage. We called Hyundai and were told that the repair parts are unavailable, in fact, they haven't even been manufactured yet. How long until we can start garaging the car again? We're not optimistic that it will be anytime soon.
