We Love our Tucson PHEV!

We enjoy the best of both worlds and love how little gas we are using daily and weekly. A charge gets me to and from work and only have to use gas for a few miles if at all. Also, the car looks great and drives great. It feels solid and I can feel the AWD. We are very happy with our purchase.

Car drives well but battery health at 30% and dealer can’t help

Had the car for 2 months and it depicts a really poor battery health and trouble charging on the lvl 1 charger. Put in a case but haven’t heard back with Hyundai since the dealer hasn’t been helpful

Overall, a very good plug-in hybrid. I love all the safety features. Very comfy ride. Lots of space. My only complaint is the the charger that comes with the only charges at the rate of about one hour per mile (ie, a full charge from 0 to 100 takes about 30 hours (for about 30 hours of electric driving). Chargepoint stations are scarce in my area. I therefore bought a Level 2 charger for my garage . Finally. because the plug-in Tucson is new, sales and service people can’t always answer questions without doing research

Almost perfect but some short falls

This car has almost everything I'd want in a vehicle: hybrid power-train that's plug-in rechargable. It has air vents for the rear seats, and Apple CarPlay works. But there are a few short falls that seem unnecessary: 1) No rear facing virtual enging sound system speaker. The sound level when the car is reversing under EV power is stupid. I worry about disturbing my neighbors when backing into my garage at night. 2) The automatic collision avoidance system is too harsh. I have had a couple of incidents already where it felt like I would get rear ended because the braking action is so sudden and strong. There is no way to turn it off. The system is myopitc in that it only see what's in front. It can't tell the difference between a wall or a car stopped to allow a pedestrian to pass (and will start moving again soon). No easy way to turn it off. 3) The steering always feels like it is being stopped too soon. For a vehcile this size, I feel like it's turning radius the same as a car 50% longer. 4) The center console spot for where a smart phone would rest is not thermally conductive and consequently lets my iPhone get super-hot. Often it feels like there is a heat source in the center console somewhere.

Great car

I love this car. From the plug in electric, which allows me to use only electricity for everyday driving, to the heads up display with 360 degree cameras with blind spot redundancies. The car is safe, efficient and a joy to drive.

Very satisfied with plug-in vehicle. We power our home with solar meaning we can drive in and around for $0. The car is more quiet than we expected. Fairly nimble handling. Very comfortable.

Excellent vehicle all around

The car drives very well. I love the large screen for navigation. We just took a long trip and used wireless apple car play - worked great. Love the back-up camera (never had one before) and all the sensors that keep you informed of everything. The only complaint I have is with the auto climate control system, which I feel I've been fighting with ever since I bought the car a few months ago. When engaged in auto mode, the fan speed is too high even on the lowest (auto) setting. Then, unfortunately, when changing the fan speed manually it seems to cancel out of auto. Also, it does strange things - suddenly the a/c will come on when not really needed. Sometimes the heated or cooling seats will engage. I guess I just need to get used to it but it's a case of either too warm in the car or too cold, or too much air. It should be easier to simply have vented air from in from outside. I think the system needs to be revamped a bit to make it a bit easier to understand. Another thing is that the 3 bars inside the circular auto engage control are not easy to see while driving unless leaning down and looking at them close. I'd suggest something more visible then those orange-colored dashes. Perhaps there's a way to change it in setting? Love the EV part of the car but it seems unfortunate that it only gets 33 miles per charge. Finally, one more observation: the seats are not all that comfortable for a long trip. Hopefully they'll soften up a bit over time but I suspect not. Everything else is great.
