My only disappointment is the heating system which takes way too long to heat the car.

Good but could be better

Comfortable. Good to very good quality in most cases, but there are four issues. 1) We had wind noise issues with our previously owned Sonata, and we have the same wind noise issues with the Tucson. 2) My wife is short, and she cannot see directly behind her unless the head restraints are removed from the back seat. The cameras help/are required for her use of the car. 3) Snow/ice buildup can prevent use of cruise control. We do not understand why cruise cannot be used if snow is present on the smart sensors. Why doesn't the system default to a dumb-drive constant velocity like old-time cruise control? Discovering that during a long trip in a recent snowstorm was very frustrating to us. Provide a warning and continue with dumb cruise control is the solution we would prefer. 4. The gas tank is simply too small for long trips. The Toyota RAV4 has a bigger gas tank and better overall performance, it seems. We would have purchased that car instead of the Hyundai Tucson if there had been more headroom in the RAV4. I am tall, and the Hyundai had just enough headroom that I could fit, while I could not fit in the Toyota.

This is not a feature

I like my car for the most part. However, there is a design flaw that causes me great concern. The 12-volt battery that starts the car and powers the electronics dies if I don't use the car for a couple of days. There is no internal reset button for my 2024 model, as there had been in previous models. I need to call roadside assistance to open the car door and start the car. It has happened twice since I've owned it, both times because I was traveling and couldn't drive it every day. This is not a feature; it's a huge, unnecessary headache. What is Hyundai planning to do to fix this post-sale?

Perfect except the seatbelt rattle

I really love this thing except for the driver seat belt that rattles. Hyundai has been unable to fix it.

Good design but poor engineering

The look, comfort and features of the car are great, but in the first year I had 5 or 6 serious things go wrong. The warranty is helpful, but the hassle to fix things outweighs the fact that they get fixed for free.

car needs work

I paid a lot of extra money for a vehicle I believed would charge so I could drive on the battery for 33 miles. It doesn't charge when it is hot which it is a lot of the year. It also shift poorly, will run at high RPM over 4000 sometime on the freeway where other times it is less than 2000. There is a constant raddle in the battery compartment. Often when shifting into reverse from park it will not move but the engine will race. I have to put it into neutral and then reverse again in it will move. Once I was in park and put it into drive, the car moved forward in drive but the brake would not disengaged. I did a few shifts into neutral and back to drive before the brake released.

Too darn complicated!

Using the few features I need is too complicated. One of these days I am going to have an accident trying to get the cruise control, the climate control, or the automatic headlight dimmer to work. You have too many engineers designing too many features and making everything so complicated that the simple things are too difficult to access. I am also disappointed in the total number of miles that can be obtained on a full charge.

2024 Tucson PHEV after 2 years

I had this car for over 2 years now. Bought it for my daily driver. It has enough cargo space with the back seats folded down to handle two sets of golf clubs and two power carts, batteries and other attachments and still has some space left. It's easy to load up for the day's activities. The 33 mile EV range is sufficient for my 25 mile round trip to work. Takes about 12-13 kw to charge up the battery from zero miles or 15% battery. The air conditioning system is poor. takes a long time to cool the interior and never blows chilly cold air like my other cars do. Had it checked 3 times and they found no problem, but something is wrong with the ac. I've driven other Hyundais and they work as desired. I would like the regen braking to be more stronger because it is not noticeable at all. Some Tucsons have the ability to increase it using the paddle shifters but mine does not have that ability. There are lots of little spaces to put things like glasses and phones and other small stuff. I wish it had a homelink system for garage doors. navigation system is easy to use, but only shows one route. You can allow the map to show straight ahead as opposed to fixed North. The mpg and range is almost exactly as stated on the window sticker. I've had a couple instances where the auto emergency braking turned on unexpectedly. The car braked moderately and slowed suddenly.

The single most undesirable problem with this car is its reverse alarm. When my car is in reverse gear, it's like a siren going off. It is unnecessary to be that loud; it's totally embarrassing & wake up your whole neighborhood if you're leaving your house early morning or late at night. Took it to the dealership & they say it's nothing they could do. Other than that, I'm satisfied with this car.
