Best car we have ever owned

Excellent car and good quality. Remote star and door lock is a very nice feature. Being able to move the car forwards or backward from outside the car using the key fob is amazing. No more crawling across the passengers side to get into the car when someone parks to close to you.

Finest vehicle I’ve ever owned

The ride, the handling, the quality of the engineering are all superb. Add to that the ability to drive locally as an electric vehicle and you’ve got a fabulous car.

I love my plug in hybrid my only problem is i. cold weather it uses gas and electric and not the electric first. In the nice weather I can get 1500 miles on one gas tank .

Overall, I love the car. It did have a major engine failure just 6 months int my ownership, which was pretty disturbing. I was without the car for 3 weeks. But once it was repaired, I haven't had any significant issues.

Advanced features and a reliable car

I enjoy my vehicle. Many nice features. The plug in hybrid allows for many daily trips to be covered using only the battery. Had an emmision issue early due to a bad sensor , but it was handled under warranty. Also had an issue with a strut on the liftgate that was also covered One major concern was the inverter going but thankfully covered under power train warranty . Still concerning that it failed under 45K miles

We liked the vehicle, however, ultimately Hyundai had to buy it back because of hybrid drive issues. That said we ultimately purchased the same vehicle except it’s a 2025 because of how Hyundai handled the buyback process.

Practical, lots of features, works well for my needs.

I wanted to go electric, but as we make 4 to 5 trips of 450 - 500 miles annually, was worried about range and added times to that trip with a full EV. This has been the perfect compromise. Around town and to and from work the 33 mile all electric range is ample, with mpg per the trip computer > 800 mpg! We really only need to put in gas for our road trips, and on those we get ~ 34 mpg highway (very speed dependent, if sticking < 60 - 65 mph, mpg drops to low 30s if going faster). The car has lots of great features (love the blindspot view monitor, surround cameras, and the ability to back if out of a tight parking space using just the key fob.). It is very quiet with a comfortable smooth ride, and acceleration is fine, and it is easy to keep in electric mode. Minor complaints: Would prefer more knobs to touch screen for the infotainment and climate control (think have been improved starting 2025), heat pump would be nice as heat kicks in the gas engine, and gas tank is on the smaller side, limiting range. (But we generally stop several times on our road trips to let our dog run around, so not a big deal to refuel.) Overall has been a great choice for our needs, and so far no mechanical issues.

Solid construction, some design flaws

The Tucson is a solid choice in its class. Local driving has great gas milage. The premium features, such as heated steering wheel and cooling front seats are really nice. Harsher weather, such as below freezing, accentuate some design flaws, such as placement of windshields (they do not have a heating element, making them freeze to the windshield), and the windshield can get ice buildup on the inside. For most other conditions, pretty good to great car.

Heat is negligible when using phev in cooler weather Driver seatbelt is uncomfortable

Love my hybrid.

I do mostly only around town driving. I charge my car once a day. Most months I only spend $40 a month. Had a problem with transmission, but it sounds like it is a common problem.

Awesome except for the video display

This car is the most fun to drive of any I have ever owned! It's quiet, VERY roomy compared to my old Forester, especially for the driver. My friends love riding in it. Did I mention QUIET? It drives on the highway like a much bigger car. It's smooth, it's powerful, and gets great mileage. The safety features like lane assist work GREAT and are integrated IMO better than any of the (many) rental cars I have driven. The self-braking cruise control is WONDERFUL and is gonna prevent a lot of wrecks. The video display works, but it's dorky. You have to take your eyes off the road to find the right virtual buttons to adjust the radio or HVAC. This is common in vehicles of this year, but it's stupid and inconvenient. ALL manufacturers need to go back to making consoles with tactile feedback so we can keep eyes on the road at all times.
