Once upon a Kona

The Kona is a good tiny SUV where if you park in garages you would pay the regular price because of its size. It's been reliable so far, brakes well and is great for road trips with little baggage and little company. Not spectacular for moving a lot of big items, okay for a trip to the store for material for a weekend project and may need to hold a few items on the top of the vehicle. Wouldn't take the family to the airport with people and luggage in the car. Sounds system is great, especially if you know how to set your levels, heated seats, sports mode, driving warnings systems, phone connectivity, media screen all work well and meet expectations. Bonus if you can find where your SD card slot is and have your navigation system work.

Great little vehicle

Hyundai kona was an excellent little low cost car. Tons of cargo space. Great handling in snow We were very happy with it The price could not be beat. The dealer was amazing. Purchased over phone and they picked up at airport

Sales person was wonderful but the maintenance and repair experience has been horrible

I would have loved this vehicle but it gos broken down multiple times and I’m not sure the mechanics are reliable or even skilled. I have had to wait months each time , left with no transportation and begging and borrowing to get to work. The stress level I’ve been placed in has left me bitter and angry. I find no help at the dealership or the corporate level. I have actually considered finding an attorney to help me.

Small and Gas Econ SUV

OK for city commute. Lack of power if going on freeways. We bought it in early 2021 during the pandemic. New car inventory was short. Choices were not that many for us then. This car was in our budget and my wife likes the compact size.

Liked the maintenance plan

Enjoyed the features and maintenance plan. It was very reliable. The leasing payment was within my budget. I will look at the 2024 Venue if the pricing is within my budget. I also liked my local dealership.

Love my car...

Perfect size, handling and fit for me... Just the right performance and comfort level while being frugal with fuel... Lots of room in the hatch for all my needs... Seats and carries four passengers easily...

It's okay

Vehicle looks nice in and out and sound system is good but even with the turbo the car driving wise is not that great. Excelerating with it sucks from either going after stopped or trying to speed up.

Love the Kona, Hate the Shifting

So we love our Kona. The problem is that when it is not in sport mode, it some times has what I think are transmission slips/stalling/surging when accelerating from a rolling stop or total stop. Needless to say, its not a good feeling to pull out into traffic only to have the car fail to shift into gear and stall momentarily before shifting into gear properly.

I love my Kona

The Kona is sporty and compact with lots of storage space for luggage. Super comfortable even on longer trips. Seats and steering wheel can be adjusted to the perfect position. Navigation has taken me to odd location a time or 2 or odd route. Safety features are on point!

Beautiful and great car

Love the car but it wasn’t my first choice due to credit and payments. Good for small family or college. Only wish it had a bit more room and storage. Overall still love this vehicle and highly recommend

Love my Kona

I love everything about my Kona. It's the perfect size for me (I'm short) and everything is within easy range for me. The car handles great in the snow and going up and down mountain roads, which is important to me. It gets good mileage. Great value for the money!

We purchased a second Kona. That should say something for what we think about Hyundai and the Kona.

We LOVE the driving performance of the Kona from fuel economy to the ability to accelerate from a stop as well as at highway speed. The ambient road noise is an issue for us, but all things considered we love our vehicle and it is the second one we purchased.

Get the Turbo.

Good basic reliable vehicle. Very poor front headlights. Door compartments are way too small. Can't put on a rough rack. I wasn't told when I purchased the vehicle about the front hook and front license plate holder. I was led to believe that I had to purchase both but the vehicle came with both and I didn't know it..

Rough ride

The vehicle has a rough ride and the dealership was bad Better shocks would help with smoothing out the ride. Have a twisted wire that made the lights go out seems like a flaw in the design. Plus of both lights go out you would think the dealer would make this a priority appointment

To many mechanical issues for a brand new car

Really wish this was more reliable. I paid way to much money cash for this car. It’s left a bad taste in my mouth for hyndai and gives me serious doubts about the manufacture quality of these cars overall.

Lack of power

Lack of power. Too much road noise. Seats on long drive uncomfortable. Dash not impressive. Gas mileage underrated car felt cheaply built. Lack of exterior styling. Doors sound cheaply made like a can

Great car

Vehicle is great but don't get service at werner hyundai. Oil change shouldn't take 2 hours with an appointment while waiting at dealership. Ding and rim repair is outsourced and may not get done in a reasonable time. Service department says they shouldn't have to handle the repair work. Sales should handle it.

2021 Hyundai Kona Select

The 2021 Hyundai Kona Select AWD is the automobile for me. With the husband, 3 dogs and myself it's the perfect for short runs or long trips. There is more than enough room for all of us. Plus it gets excellent gas mileage.

Excellent service and a great subcompact vehicle

Great friendly service and fast. I love my Kona it is very economical on fuel. The back seats can move down for more room when packing for camping, etc. It has style and its quiet and comfortable to drive. It was very cost effective choice for me.
