It's just okay

For the price of the car, it's missing a lot of standard features most cars at this price range should have. Not having powered windows for the passenger side makes a world of a difference. That, and the turning radius is awful. I have parking anxiety trying to maneuver in parking lots with this new hurdle. I wish I could return my car early and get a new one. I doubt I can stay with this one for the full 3 years.

My SEL is a great car for the money, but Go for the Limited trim.

Solid ride, quiet, sure-footed and connected to the road. Lots of power and pickup.

powertrain wise very good. build quality and infotainment to be improv

Powertrain is very good. 800V architecture is great for me since i don't have AC charging at home. However i have rattles in the rear trunk, seat area on this 2 month old vehicle. Infotainment wise the route planning is much to be improved compared to Tesla etc.

Decent crossover SUV

Nice electric crossover SUV with good range and fast charging. The software needs a lot of work. Keys aren't tied to profiles and switching profiles is locked unless you're in park - which can cause issues if you don't realize you're on the wrong profile when you take off. Lots of things tied to profile as well. Some behavior like unlocking all of the doors with multiple unlock clicks on the remote are off by default or setup strange and buried under multiple menus. They're also tied to the profile - which would be kindof neat if the profiles were tied to keys. Like the wireless Apple CarPlay. The seats are decent. Air conditioning is a little iffy and the rear passengers are often too warm unless I crank up the air and point vents to the rear. Of course there are no rear vents. No issues with charging or with the car in general so far.

Loving my 2026 AWD Limited

I was originally going to buy the new Toyota BZ but after reading so many positive reviews about the Ionic 5, I decided to at least drive one before making my first EV purchase. It didn't take long to change my mind about which car I would be buying. :-)

Do not buy at Seattle Hyundai. Car is great but dealership runs a scam: $799 “Waypoint Protect”. After the price had been negotiated, hidden among “Taxes and Fees” was “Waypoint Protect” at $799. Described to me after I inquired what this, Tax or Fee was, as an anti theft device. An item never disclosed in car price negotiations.

Love the Ionic 5

I love my Ionic It is roomy and comfortable. There is room in the back seat for two car seats. The tech is fantastic. It is fun to drive. This is my second Ionic 5!

A fun EV to drive

The quick acceleration and the smooth quiet ride makes this car a pleasure to drive. It’s also a joy to drive past gas stations and not worry about the price of gas.

I love the car, but it could use some improvements. For example, having the charging port at the front of the cars, so one doesn’t always have to back into a charging station. Improving or correcting charging a Tesla, charging, half the time if not more I am unable to charge there and have given up trying.

It's okay

Need to take it in to the dealer. Recently have started hearing a weird noise while driving. From research sounds like a bad wheel bearing. It has less than 1k miles so that is concerning if that's the issue.

I really enjoy driving the vehicle. It's easy to maintain at home with a small level II charger which I used with a PHEV. One feature I would like to see is a foot sensor to open the rear hatch hands free rather than than the approach, as the hatch opens when you walk slowly by the rear whether you want it or not.

This is an amazing car!

While I've read of others having some issues with the battery or ICCU, so far so good with me! And I trust if I have any problems, Hyundai will be right there to take care of me. I trust this company and I trust my car! (also, when I lost power for 19 hours and had 11 guests in my house, it powered the fridge and the coffee pot. Win win!

Review for Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL

I really like this car — it’s stylish, fun to drive, and turns heads everywhere I go. The design is sleek and modern, and the interior feels premium and spacious. My only real regret is not stepping up to the Limited trim. I went with the SEL, and a lot of the smart driving modes and convenient features were removed compared to the higher trim. That was a bit disappointing. I also had some minor cosmetic issues when I took delivery, but the dealer handled everything quickly and professionally, which I really appreciated. One small thing I wish Hyundai would improve is the backup speed — it feels too fast for me, especially in tight spaces. It would be great if we could adjust or limit the reverse speed. Other than that, the Ioniq 5 has been wonderful so far. Smooth, quiet, efficient, and a joy to drive every day. Highly recommend it!
