Almost great car.
There are so many things I like about this car, and only a few that I don't.
For me, as a shorter driver (5'5) the car fits great. The visibility is awesome, the seat height is great, the size, shape and position of the armrest (and window sills) fit me really well. I also love that it's pretty easy to get one with a light color interior! My last two vehicles only came in solid black interiors and it was depressing.
The overall ride quality, handling, and quietness of the I5 is very good. The software can be a little flaky sometimes but nothing serious. Android Auto integration worked perfectly from day one.
Fit and finish could use some improvement. I don't feel that all four doors are aligned like they should be - the driver door especially. Too much force to close it (even when other doors/windows are open) and the sense that the driver door drops down about 1mm when it's being opened.
The cabin has some interior creaks/noises going over uneven surfaces sometimes. Too bad because it's a very quite car and these little panel noises stand out.
It don't care for the way some things are implemented, such as certain settings are cleared just by putting the car in reverse and then again in drive. I also really dislike the auto-hatch release. It takes a full 7-8 seconds of you standing there like a ninny waiting for the hatch to open; a motion sensor (foot waive, for example) would've been better.
The manufacturer seems unable to be fully honest and transparent about the ICCU problem. If they truly can't fix it, can they at least improve the software detection of the problem and give you some head's up that it could be happening soon?
I really like the combination of some touch features and some physical buttons. I like the infotainment system overall, and the car's only voice support. I find it hard to see the markings on the climate control strip in the daylight, but you get used to this.
For 2026, although they advertise a big "rebate" what really happened is they stripped a lot of good and useful features out of the SEL model. This is a real shame as some of those features were potentially very useful, such as heated steering wheel, newer safety software, etc. If you want those, you're gonna have to pony up another $5K
Some of the exterior bumper pieces seem to mark up really easily from stones, etc.
