My Ioniq 5

the car is terrific- the only reservation I have is that the many electronic features and other controls centered on the dashboard display are hard to learn. I wish there was a class offered by the dealer to help owners figure out all this stuff.

TOTALLY DIS-SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Since I purchased the car in oct 2024 there has been a continuous problem with none of the services performed on the car being acknowledged by your tracking system. I am constantly being bothered by emails, call from dealers and U S mailings that my car is due for service. Every time I open the Hyundai Bluelink app it has a notice in red letters that I am overdue for service. I have an open case # 42280714, and have talked three different times with staff and still there is no resolution. I am waiting for another call back. In addition in April (2026) the car failed 70 miles from hone because of a bad integrated charging control unit (ICCU). The car suddenly went into a mode that would not let me go any faster than 30 mph. Had this happened on the freeway, it most likely would have cause an accident. While the dealer did an excellent job of diagnosing and fixing the car, every time I leave home I am never sure if I will gett back again!!

Excellent vehicle and economical ego own.

I would recommend this vehicle to my friends and family. Very easy to pwn, great range, super fast level 3 charging. Lots of storage space.

Incredible introduction to EVs

The Ioniq 5 is the real deal, an incredible EV package at a great price. Once Hyundai resolves the one known major reliability issue, this will be the EV for everyone!

Fun to drive and great value for the money

I have driven multiple ev’s but this one is pretty close to the top of all. Love the EV range, charging speeds and drive comfort. Minor cons - no wireless AirPlay , hopefully that has been fixed on the newer models

Not bad until battery died

The car drove well and we enjoyed it, until 1.5yrs in it had a complete battery failure, and we are doing the lemon law settlement now. The other big lowlight was service — impossible to schedule (months out for appointments, waiting on hold, no loaners, etc)

Mechanically perfect. Very comfortable.

Mechanically perfect. Love the buttons ofr common functions rather than having to use the screen. Very comfortable seats and really good backseat leg room. However, the rear hatch is so slanted that it makes much of the cargo space unusable and not good for large luggage or boxes. Also, the organization areas lack dividers in the console and there is not sunglasses holder!

Lots to Love...But...

Love the acceleration, the comfortable ride and no longer relying on gas to power my vehicle. But, two things make me less enthusiastic: 1.) the traction battery on the car failed last year with barely 11,000 miles, and it took six months to get it repaired--partly due to dealer mismanagement; but 4 months due to lengthy time to produce a replacement battery. 2.) the 2024 model year was not included in the most recent navigation update, which enables real-time navi updates. My understanding is that it's due to the main electronics operating system being changed after model year 2024. Seems ridiculous a 2-year-old car isn't eligible for updates.

Drives well. Software and controls need work

The car is comfortable, even for long trips. It handles well both in the city and on the highway. It has good acceleration and braking. Its main faults are in the software, especially navigation and interior comfort, and visibility of controls. Most of the time we have connected a phone and used android auto to bypass the internal navigation system. The most glaring and almost criminal defect is the lack of a rear windshield wiper. This severely limits rear vision in bad weather.

Overall very good car but has issues and customer service is not good.

I love driving this car. It’s an excellent ride and has more features than any car I’ve ever had. I did have a recall for the 12v battery, which is critical to operating the car. I also had a sensor fail at 24k miles, which really shouldn’t happen. To get it fixed, I tried making an appointment online but the site wouldn’t let me select a date and time. I called the dealer and was immediately put on hold “for a second”. I made my lunch, did some housecleaning, played with the dog and finally drove yo the dealership. I was still on hold when I walked in and the employees were just sitting there after the morning rush. They tried to be polite but really didn’t want to acknowledge their poor service. On top of that, I’ve taken my car in for service but the Hyundai system isn’t updating, so I get noticed saying my car is overdue. The dealer said they can’t help me but offered me a phone number to call for that. I was too frustrated with them to act but I probably should go through further frustration trying to resolve that as well.
