I love the car!

The security features are very helpful, the car drives beautiful, it looks elegant, it has a good driving range. I wish the trunk was bigger and (particular to our car I’m sure) the flap for the charger has been hit and miss when I press it. Our model doesn’t have rear window windshield wipers but that was remedied for the model of next year as far as I know.

Not much to complain about.

This 2024 Ioniq5 has been a completely uneventful ownership… in a good way. One complaint - no rear window wiper - has been fixed on the newer models. The highly touted fast charging speeds rarely occurred at my local Electrify America charging station, but on this model they have been free so I can’t complain much about that. The front and rear seat legroom is cavernous. The flexibility of drive and regen setting is excellent, but the creaks and rattles in the back are distracting. I got the Limited model but would opt for the SEL if I could do it again.

Great City Commuter, Beware Flying Rocks

The Frame of this car is so light, that it flexes hard when weather changes from hot to cold and back. If you have a tiny crack or chip in the windshield, it will eventually travel if you don’t take care of it right away. And the edges of the windshield seem incredibly susceptible to being cracked, and because they’re covered in black vynal on the inside, you don’t see them until they already start traveling. Have had to replace the windshield on both of my Ioniq 5’s at least once over the course of our 2 year lease. If you’re leasing, pay extra to make sure that’s covered. Also, I work construction and this was my primary commuter vehicle. I had a jobsite that had me traveling over 100 miles a day, and because the GPS will not let you go to a destination if the battery is too low without hitting up a charging station first.

the car is terrific- the only reservation I have is that the many electronic features and other controls centered on the dashboard display are hard to learn. I wish there was a class offered by the dealer to help owners figure out all this stuff.

TOTALLY DIS-SATISFIED CUSTOMER

Since I purchased the car in oct 2024 there has been a continuous problem with none of the services performed on the car being acknowledged by your tracking system. I am constantly being bothered by emails, call from dealers and U S mailings that my car is due for service. Every time I open the Hyundai Bluelink app it has a notice in red letters that I am overdue for service. I have an open case # 42280714, and have talked three different times with staff and still there is no resolution. I am waiting for another call back. In addition in April (2026) the car failed 70 miles from hone because of a bad integrated charging control unit (ICCU). The car suddenly went into a mode that would not let me go any faster than 30 mph. Had this happened on the freeway, it most likely would have cause an accident. While the dealer did an excellent job of diagnosing and fixing the car, every time I leave home I am never sure if I will gett back again!!

Excellent vehicle and economical ego own.

I would recommend this vehicle to my friends and family. Very easy to pwn, great range, super fast level 3 charging. Lots of storage space.

Incredible introduction to EVs

The Ioniq 5 is the real deal, an incredible EV package at a great price. Once Hyundai resolves the one known major reliability issue, this will be the EV for everyone!

Fun to drive and great value for the money

I have driven multiple ev’s but this one is pretty close to the top of all. Love the EV range, charging speeds and drive comfort. Minor cons - no wireless AirPlay , hopefully that has been fixed on the newer models

Not bad until battery died

The car drove well and we enjoyed it, until 1.5yrs in it had a complete battery failure, and we are doing the lemon law settlement now. The other big lowlight was service — impossible to schedule (months out for appointments, waiting on hold, no loaners, etc)

Mechanically perfect. Very comfortable.

Mechanically perfect. Love the buttons ofr common functions rather than having to use the screen. Very comfortable seats and really good backseat leg room. However, the rear hatch is so slanted that it makes much of the cargo space unusable and not good for large luggage or boxes. Also, the organization areas lack dividers in the console and there is not sunglasses holder!
