Battery issues

Love everything about this vehicle other than the fact that the 12v battery dies and the car becomes inoperable. And as a result spends weeks at the dealership garage.

My Ioniq 5

All good except for no wireless CarPlay and truck rattle when driving at a low speed. Also just had an issue with the 12v battery going flat.

Really great, some minor nitpicks

Overall fantastic and fun to drive. There are quite a few nitpicks which would preclude me from purchasing this year model. Am very much looking foward to getting a new year model; but only if there are improvements

Ways to get me to buy my leased i5 at lease expiration

Overall like the vehicle. Here's what I would improve...trunk still rattles even after being serviced, add manual battery preconditioning button, show battery temp somewhere, show how many kW car is asking for when charging. ADAS could be improved. Update the navigation more often with new chargers. Implemented plug and charge with main charging network providers.

great car

had to have iccu replaced at ~15000 miles, but no other problems since. ride is quiet and comfortable. range could be better in the winter months would make it excellent 5 stars. i have had it get up to 350 miles range in moderate temps. winter its around 230ish.

Best car I've owned by far!

The affordability and convenience of charging at home are great, and I love reducing my environmental footprint when driving. Even apart from those things, this is just the most comfortable and fun to drive car I've owned in 30 years of driving. I highly recommend it!

Love it but worried about ICU

I've had this car on a lease for a little over two years, and overall I've loved it. It's comfortable, it looks great, it's got good range, and I would seriously consider keeping it or upgrading to the latest model year, especially since that one has a rear windows wiper, better range, and more physical buttons. So clearly Hyundai was listening to its customers. The only thing that always worried me, particularly on long trips, was the ICCU issue I kept reading about. I did all the maintenances, I did all the recalls, and I tried to reassure myself that it was supposedly less than 1% of vehicles. And then it happened to me last week. Luckily I was near home, and McGovern Hyundai in Arlington, MA got me back on the road in 24 hours. But the fact that this issue is so well-known, prevalent, and still not really solved means I'll have a difficult decision next February

2+ years with my Ioniq 5

I love the Ioniq 5. I have only had one issue. There was an issue with the 12V battery discharging. It took several tries, but the problem was finally resolved. My only cost was time. Hyundai replaced 2, 12V batteries at no charge to me. We took a 2,500 mile trip last summer and had no issues with the car or finding adequate charging stations. My next car will be a Hyundai EV!

Poor build quality. My car has a terrible rattle in the rear hatch door and the dealership can’t or won’t fix it.

Several electrical issues. Poor customer service.

The car has major electrical flaws. The 12V battery keeps dying, and the ICCU (the main charging part) had to be replaced. It’s unreliable and keeps breaking down. The Service: Both Hyundai Corporate and the dealerships have been a nightmare. They are hard to work with, don’t communicate well, and haven't provided the support you'd expect for a new car. On top of the electrical mess, there are persistent rattles and noises coming from the trunk. Despite multiple visits, no technician has been able to find the source or fix it.

Has been a fantastic car, and a great intro to EV's

I love the legroom in this car, with teenagers who are 6'4" and up, it is nice to have a backseat that can accommodate them. Another aspect I love is that the car charges much faster at public chargers than other EV brands. I can get in and out of a public charger easily in 15 to 20 minutes, where sometimes others are there for an hour plus (part of this is human etiquette, too...I would never charge past 80% if others were waiting). Overall this has been such a great car for road trips and around town. I like that they added a rear wiper on 2025 models, that is a great improvement. Another suggestion is to somehow adjust for more cooling for back seat passengers as the two back seat vents are on the sides and pretty small. On really hot days, it can stay pretty warm back there when it's cool in the front.
