, fast charging; flawed software & charge management issue

Fast charging, efficient vehicle. Handling awkward, software setup over complicated and hard to navigate, and Integrated Charge Control failure with poor response from Hyundai Management (not dealer repair shop).

The only thing I don't like about the vehicle is not having a wiper on the rear hatchback. Everything else is great.

Would probably go 4.5 stars if such was possible

Car is mostly great and, for my usage patterns, costs very little to operate. However, there *are* some oddball elements of the vehicle that I feel required more thought: - 2024 model -- no hatch window wiper - No way to open & close hatch manually, i.e., NOT with power - The commonly reported hatch rattle, thus far resisting attempts to solve - WAY too much automation of what should be straight-forward operations (high-beam "assist", other "assists", SO MANY THINGS to simply turn off so one can drive the car without warnings sounding every two seconds) - iPedal forces AWD - Regenerative braking deactivates while in reverse? THAT was a bit unsettling the first time; still don't understand why the most recently-selected regen setting would not remain active. - No dashboard button to release the charging port flap. And, despite any suggested solutions I've found on-line, I have NEVER been able to open merely by pressing on the door's external button; in fact, I have given up. Voice control "works", but is a stupid alternative to simply pressing a button on the dash. (Digging the key fob out of the pocket to press, and thus open the charge flap, is even worse.)

It is a very nice car that needs a little refinement to make it 5 star

My 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited is a nice car that is fun to drive. It handles pretty well and has a pretty smooth ride. It has most all the safety features in it.

Overall great car so far, with some minor quirks

We're really enjoying the Ioniq 5. The drive is great, and its comfortable and easy. We've only put 2,600 miles on it, so I can't speak to durability. But since this is a rare area to give feedback, here are a few things I would change: 1) Allow drivers to set regenerative breaking level rather than have to change it every time we start the car (and/or allow us to change it without actually driving); 2) auto lock doors when leaving the car and all doors are closed and key fob is outside of car; 3) allow us to adjust the color temperature of the overhead lighting, or make it warmer (it's hideous); 4) I would really prefer either analog dials or just a better design for the steering wheel dash display

Really enjoying this car

Every car has its small flaws that are corrected after the first couple generations - this one desperately needs a back window wiper, but I see they added it for the 2025 model! Frustrated a bit that it wasn't there on the early models, since some basic testing of the model would show its needed before they released it BUT I have zero other complaints about this car. It handles well in all seasons. It charges fast in the summer (18 mins to 80%) and while its double that in the winter, I think thats standard for electric in the cold right now. Its comfy, haven't found any blind spots, haven't had any issues, drives smooth, with eco mode and driving far left lane speeds I get around 220 miles to the charge (80%) and in the winter I get around 180 miles. Customer service at my Hyundai location has been incredible. Every other owner of this car I've met at a charging station seems to love this car, too. Hyundai and Kia both seem to have really surged to the top of the car market (previous Toyota/Lexus-only owner, here).

Only a few issues.

My#1 complaint is the matte finish. It is a pain if you don’t just LOVE washing your car. I don’t. Had I known it was so hard to take care of properly, I would have never gotten it. No one told me that at the dealership. The position of the power button/climate control on the dash are too close together. Invariably I unintentionally touch Climate when going for the power button, which means I have to go into the Climate folder to change it back to what I want, which means I take my eyes off the road. Not good. The seats are pretty hard. Hands on the steering wheel make a sound I don’t like. Why should we hear the wheel turning? The auto windshield wiper function doesn’t work all that well in my opinion. I would like it to start a lot sooner than it does or not as often once it gets going! I had much more control in my last car with the graduated wiper function. Otherwise—great ride, responsive, funcar.

Nice car with a great ride and a few quirks

This is a comfortable car that drives well. Lots of room inside and the fold down back seats are great. The lack of a rear windshield wiper though is problematic. The touchscreen is nice, but the buttons that correspond to the touchscreen are not well placed and difficult to read. Not a great design. The charge port is misplaced on the right rear of the car. I"d prefer it on the front or on the front left side of the car.

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL

This is my first EV and I love it for reason I didn't even expect. The fast charging has been excellent except in the winter but even then it isn't bad. I only charge at EA fast chargers and I don't mind spending the 30 minutes by myself. In fact I rather enjoy it. I have never charged on Level 1 or Level 2 chargers. The semi self-driving on the highway has been excellent. I took a long trip from Denver to Tucson and it worked great. I love that I have essentially no maintenance things to take care of other than washer fluid. I have become a huge iPedal fan! I just love it. Driving ICE vehicles now seems like a giant step backwards. I plan on being EV for the rest of my life and Hyundai's are the way to go right now.

Honestly, this is the best car I've ever owned.

This car has room for all of your stuff, is super comfortable on longer drives and drives like it's on rails. Easy to charge, range is good, it's quiet and fast when it needs to be. Any passengers who drive in it come away impressed with what an electric car can do, and it makes the gas vehicles feel like you're stepping into a museum of outdated technology. Thoroughly impressed with the build quality, ride and usability of the car. One of the best cars I've ever owned (but 60's muscle cars still are super cool).

2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 SEL Review

Great, comfortable ride. Love the space. Love the color option, teal is my favorite. Windshield Wipers are very poor quality and don't clean the windshield that well. No wipers in the rear windshield and I have to hand clean sometimes. 330 miles is not the true range on my vehicle. Feels more like 250s. Need longer range. Interior doesn't feel like a premium car given how much I am paying for it. Wireless Apple Carplay would be nice. Customer service experience and tech capabilities could be a little better. The Bluelink Hyundai app could be faster. Charging stations need to be more available. Partnerships with companies outside of just Electrify America would be beneficial.

Best Car I’ve Ever Owned

I love, love, love my Ioniq 5. If it had a back windshield wiper and integrated ApplePlay, I would give it 5 stars. All of the features work beautifully, and I use them all except for auto park, which I can’t quite figure out. The seats are comfortable and the ride smooth and quiet. I get about 350 miles on a full charge- maybe a little less when it is cold, and this is more than adequate for me.
