2024 Tucson PHEV

Driving this vehicle has mostly been positive. It has so far been reliable transportation. On down side it only gets 33 miles of pure electric range where as most competing PHEV's are getting 40+ electric miles of range. I feel Hyundai is falling behind in this regard. After two years of ownership I'm noticing ratting coming from the sunroof and back cargo area so build quality needs more effort in this department. Also wind noise is very noticeable from the windshield and side glass. Not the worse I've heard but noticeable at highway speed. Perhaps double laminated glass would fix this issue. Would I buy again? Yes, if Hyundai can boost the electric range and fix the wind noise.

Weak hybrid engine

The car runs very smooth on electric engine but makes a lot of noise while running on Hybrid engine. The average milage on Hybrid engine is < 30 miles/gallon on surface street.

This Car Sounds Like a Construction Vehicle When it Backs Up

I strongly dislike this vehicle. The first, and worst, issue is that it beeps like a construction truck when you back up. It's unbelievably loud. My neighbor has complained to the HOA and me about the sound. I reached out to the sales representative that sold me the car and he thought it was funny. Appalling. The construction of this vehicle is inferior to my previous 2022 version. It drives differently, like it's a little looser and not gripping the road. I've had the car for just over a year and it reeks. The smell that comes out when I turn on the heat or AC is awful. I've never had this issue with any other vehicle. I even put a moisture absorber in the car and it didn't make a difference. The EVC component is a joke. Don't bother treating it like an EV, it only has a 25 mi battery and it takes forever to charge.

Comfortable on Long Driving Trips

Glad I leased the car instead of outright purchasing it. The clock has changed times on its own a couple of times in our general area. Sometimes the radio just stops working. When I reboot it it usually comes back on. Not happy with the service department at the nearby dealership. They are not very helpful and try to sell you things that shouldn't be needed. Stopped the other day to ask a question, middle of the day, and had a hard time getting anyone to talk to me. When I finally got to someone, he told me that the answer was somewhere in the manual.

Great Safety features

The car has great safety features. I especially appreciate the 360-degree camera when traveling, parking or backing out. The plug-in hybrid is perfect for me, since I typically drive less than 25 miles a day. The mail drawback is the car seems to hesitate on hills or when merging onto a highway. It is also too big for me. I wish the same safety features, especially the 360-degree camera, were available on a smaller hatchback. The car hesitates on hills

Smooth, overpriced, short-range commuter

I like to drive it short distances except when I'm constantly hitting my elbow on the too tall center console. First time and only time I drove it on a long trip, it ran out of gas trying to go 225 miles between stops refusing to use the battery until it was completely out of gas. Hate that I have to pay electric car registration fees for a short range battery and tiny fuel tank. Good commute as long as it's a short commute.

MY 2024 PHEV

I absolutly love this car. The ride, the power, the reliability, comfort are perfect for me. The electric is fun to drive. Only issue I have with it are the headlights do not illuminate the road at night very well and they should include knobs on the control board (which I believe Hyundai has already addressed).

Beware if you live in the Northeast!

This car has a lot of good thing - I hardly go to the gas station more than once a month, it drives very well, and is generally comfortable - but it has a lot of problems - it takes 20 minutes to get heat in the winter, the unlock feature at the door often doesn't work in the winter, and windshield ices up on the inside - and now I'm starting to see things fail - windshield cracked for no reason and now I have to replace a strut.

A reliable Tuscon.

My only two issues are: You only have to touch the keyless remote to get the hatch to open but need to hold down continuously to close. I want the awful sound on reversing changed and turned down quite a lot.

great car. seats can be more comfortable. the back up sound is WAY too loud and in the front - how does that make any sense. blinker lights should be up high where people can actually see them - the current design is terrible!

Gas Free and Happy

My Hyundai hybrid is ideal for the low miles that I drive daily around town. I don’t have to worry about a few longer trips when. I have not been to a gas station in months.
