Overall Very Good But Needs a Few Changes

Overall it is a very nice sedan. But there are a few changes I think should be made as follows: First, they eliminated the auto-dimming Homelink mirror so I had to buy one and have it installed. Going back to a manual day/night flit mirror is like going back to a car from the 70's just to save a few dollars. My car is a Hybrid but the interior lamps are all incandescent, they should all be LED as this is supposed to be a high tech fuel efficient car. The seats are decent but they could be more comfortable. It would be nice to have the memory seat button like my Accord Hybrid has. They offer a version in Canada that has a heated steering wheel but they do not include this in the Northeast. Styling is fairly good but there are some features on the outside that just don't need to be there and just make the car look a bit cluttered. Mileage is very good sometimes getting over 50 MPG. It is a bit light on the power but acceptable. You can set the level of regenerative braking from 0 to 3 but each time you start the car you need to reset the value. If you want a nice car with good mileage, a good warranty, decent pricing, and a lot of cool tech then this is a good choice.

Some features missing

Generally I am happy with this car , but there are a few disappointments. One the gas mileage has never got near 51. No matter the driving it stays around 43. My last hybrid would do a good job of showing how to get better gas mileage. I have not found anything on this car that helps. The other disappointing thing is some of the safety features. I am older and I wanting a car that did a good job with safety. This one misses it by a little. There is no warning when backing up getting close to an object. I feel this should be standard. The last disappointing thing is the seat needs more padding in the back part of the seat. It seems to sink in on long drives.

Nice looking, comfortable car with a few drawbacks

Love the look of my silver Sonata, but it is high tech. It seems to me that a lot of it could have been simplified and some things most people will not use.

Who Needs Anything More?

Spacious. Well made. Looks great. Quiet (in Limited trim). Amazing MPG for it's size, (consistently over 50MPG). A great road trip car. Everyone who see's it or has a ride in it cannot believe "it's a Hyundai?" (So tired of that old cliche). If you know, you know. Can we also talk about the warranty? Not that I have ever had any issues with my 4 Hyundai's.

Solid quality, but still comes up short in some primary ways

Fuel efficiency is significantly less than advertised, even though I drive conservatively in Eco mode. Shifts rough, particularly the downshift from 2nd to 1st at low speeds. Otherwise, solid quality car that is enjoyable to drive and is feels unique and stylish.

MY FIRST HYBRID
