Overall a great car with at least one fault

I do really like my hybrid, but the main issue i have is that the fake battery keeps getting drained after it sits unused for a few days. I work from home so i tend to not use my car more than twice a week (sat/thurs). Because of this the car sits for several days between uses and for some reason almost always drains the fake 12 volt battery down to the point i need to use the phsyical key to unlock the car, hit the 12 volt battery reset button and hard reset turn my car back on. If that sequence of events worked everytime it would be annoying, but livable. Unfortunately, sometimes without a discernable reason it will drain all way down so that even that doesnt work and i need to call hyundai roadside to have them come out and jumpstart my car. I think ive had to do that at least 5 times in the less than 2 years ive had this car. Otherwise the comfort is pretty good (would love more padding on the driver's door armrest). Ride is good, love the extra features my version has (hud, adaptive cruise, etc), and the looks are great. Just wish there was a fix for this battery issue.

It’s okay.

The highest trim level doesn’t include wireless CarPlay, only wired. While the lower trim models have wireless. Push button transmission shifter is not as reliable as traditional shifters. Lots of convenience features. Hybrid gets great gas mileage.

Good car, 1 flaw.

Please rectify the hybrid battery fuse issue.. this poses a fatal hazard. The car completely shuts down on the road. You have to come to a complete stop, turn the car off, press the 12v reset button then the car will restart.Overall good car.

No problem at all. Dealership took care of this.

Nice car. I love driving it. The safety features are great. Comfortable ride. It does hydro plane when raining hard, even if I slow down. Nice leg room. Navigation is close to perfect. I would definitely buy another Hyundai.

This car was determined a Lemon by Hyundai problem after problem it is sad such a bad experience

It not a part of this car that do not has a problem a terrible experience, and the worst is how Hyundai ignored us all the time since February 2023 and before asking them to fix the car or take it away and in 2023 our car was in one year 10 months in the dealer

LOVE this car and features, HATE the service appointment availability

This is a fantastic car. I love most everything about it except getting it serviced. I live in a major metro area of 2.2 million and all of the dealerships within 45 minutes of my home are booked for 6-8 months out. Additionally trying to get a technical answer from Hyundai corp goes into a endless pit and calling service departments are met with answers like "I think..." or "I assume...". No good! Too bad I bought another Hyundai without realizing the service department issue.

Great gas mileage

2022 Sonata Limited Hybrid, great gas mileage in spring through fall, not so good in the cold midwestern winters. Hyundai computer shows 5 mpg higher than actual mileage. This has been the case with all 3 Hyundai's I have owned. Hyundai needs to do something about this. Our 2012 Kia Soul is within a tenth of a mile accurate. I would recommend the Hybrid over an EV any day of the week.

Car is good, but Bluetooth connection sucks!

Your phone will disconnect while you’re driving and you won’t be able to see the gps anymore. You’ll have to reset the system while driving and reconnect your phone (while trying to figure out if you’re going the right way)

The car has been great. I love the hybrid

I purchased the hybrid model to use for work and the car has been fantastic. The fuel mileage has been great and I have no complaints about the car. I will definitely buy another Hyundai. I wish they offered this car and a plug-in hybrid version.

Exceeds Expectations

I did not expect to get a hybrid or a Sonata. I was in the market for electric but so was everyone else. I liked the Sonata and quickly came to love it! The mileage is great for my commute and it is stylish, safe, and fun to drive. I made a great decision for my 50 year birthday gift to myself! Thank you Jim Ellis for helping me find and take good care of my vehicle :)

Purchase experience great-service not so much

I love my car, however I purchased it due to its reliability but my car has been in the shop 2xs now. I haven’t had the vehicle for 2 months and counting. I am very disappointed in this problem and how long it’s taking to repair. I am uneasy about its reliability now and am concerned that I can get stranded if this continues to happen. Hybrid battery needs replacing and apparently it’s on backorder.

Sonata is too low to the ground and cheaply made. I traded it in quickly

The Towson Maryland dealership has poor customer service they blamed not issuing my $500 veterans refund on Hyundai. I produced proof my dd214. They refuse to respond even grinning after complaints. I plan on filing with the better business bureau because they ripped off a combat veteran and refuse to respond to honoring the discount. My wife and I traded in 2 Hyundai new purchase vehicles because we are UNHAPPY with the product and dealership. All your required questions are rediculous. You dont plan on changing anything!

Great potential, a little pricey, nice and safe, potential problems with battery motor coordinating with gasoline engine (intermittent, hot or wet weather triggered?)

Overall the vehicle is great, the dealer requires too many hours for basic maintenance, but when the battery fails to charge, there is notable problems in getting power while driving and mpg really suffers when this happens (from average 50 mpg in normal circumstances reduced down to 20 mpg until engine and motor balance out and power is restored.

Love my vehicle and how much I save on gas. I get between 50 to 56 mpg. Very easy vehicle to handle. I have the bright white color and it is a beautiful color foe this excellent vehicle. People always ask me if the car is a Mercedes or audi.

Enjoying my car

This car gives me good fuel economy, is fun to drive, and looks stylish. Very satisfied with Hyundai as this was my first Hyundai vehicle. I also liked the extent of the warranty that was offered by Hyundai.

Interior Leather Cracked within 3 days of owning the car, Dealerships Accuse us of cutting the seats ourselves

We have owned 3 Hyundai Sonatas over the last decade. Two of them were hybrids. Our last purchase arrived and we were super excited, however within 3 days we noticed what appeared to be a cut on the driver seat. We immediately inspected the rest of the car and this was the only issue. However within the next few days there were an additional two "cuts" in the leather. It turns out the leather was just splitting when someone would sit on the seats. We talked to multiple Hyundai dealerships, both accusing us of cutting the seats ourselves. We escalated to the Hyundai Corporate/Warranty group, sending pictures of the cracks - they also accused us of lying and cutting the seats ourselves. This experience has tainted our perspective of Hyundai and we are unlikely to purchase another Hyundai and would definitely not recommend them as a brand. As long time fans of their vehicles, this experience has greatly changed our perspective.

Good looking car poor performance and unexpected and undesirable service

The car is excellent design external look, but a number of undesirable features and poof customer support, wrote to customer service and dealer manager with no response. Service department checked the car and could not find the unable to start the car problem after 3 or more not use the cay and not able to use touchless remote key to open the back door half of the time. Very irresponsible customer support and disappointment.
