Significant Safety issues ignored

There is a significant issue related to the cruise control. I have brought this to the corporate office and the local repair shop multiple times and each time they tell me that there is no code that is showing that could suggest there’s a problem so there is nothing they can do. I have had the car go from 70 miles an hour to 45 miles an hour on the interstate in a matter of a few seconds in various different conditions. This happens when the sun is shining, when it’s dark, when it’s raining, when it’s clear, there is no rhyme or reason for why this occurs. I have had other issues as well, including the display going blank, or showing multiple problems with the car. However, when I shut the car off and restart it, everything seems to reset itself. My biggest frustration is that they act like there is not a problem and that I’m just making it up.

A Hybrid worth owning

I had a hybrid from Jeep ... it didn't stand up. This is what a hybrid is supposed to be!! It has been the perfect car. Esp now with gas prices skyrocketing!!

Almost 90 days without the car

The car broke back in June 13 and until now I do not have the car back because it keeps on giving when the problem is mechanical!

Terrible customer service

The care is decent. But when there is a problem, dealerships and customer service does nothing the solve your problem if it's more than general maintenance.

Fun to Drive, Impossible to Maintain

This car is a lot of fun to drive. It provides a comfortable ride for long trips. The navigation and enhanced cruise control features make it great for long distance trips on the highway/freeway. However, if anything happens to your car (outside of routine oil changes), you will be hopelessly at the mercy of the dealership's service department, which is utterly incapable of helping you to get back on the road. You will have to wait weeks (and sometimes months) for any service beyond oil changes. My car had a faulty fuel pump. It took 6 trips to the dealership and several MONTHS before they finally fixed the problem. This was made worse by the fact that the service department refused to listen to/believe my explanation about what was happening with my vehicle. When I was finally able to get video of the problem, they admitted that my description perfectly described the problem I was experiencing. Now that my car is out of the initial bumper-to-bumper warranty period (I drive a lot for work...more than 30k per year), I use a third-party mechanic, but Hyundai makes this really difficult, too. If you don't have your car serviced by a dealership, the Check Engine light automatically illuminates, requiring you to either take it in to a Hyundai dealership, or have the third party mechanic reset it. But, again, if you don't take it in to a dealership, the light will just come back on until you do. Knowing what I know now about Hyundai's inability to provide reliable service for the lifetime of my vehicle, I will not be buying another car from them again. They may have the best warranty in the business, but if you don't have the ability to reliably meet the obligations of that warranty, then it's just another empty promise. A gimmick to sell more cars.

My 2024 Hybrid Hyundai Sonata is a work of art in its styling, advanced technology, luxury, gas saving efficiency and safety features. It is a pleasure to drive this automobile. If there is any room for improvement it involves the protective structure beneath the very front bottom of the vehicle. It needs to be secured better to prevent it from breaking away from the front bottom. Also, another minor issue is the Hyundai logo on the passenger side floor door entry. It can easily pop out when placing your foot in or out of the vehicle as it has happened on my vehicle.

Needs Improvement

Engine/Power gets slow time to time, battery to gas shift is very noticeable, very delicate sensors, after service complications with dealership, seats are not comfortable.

Amazing car. Best decision

When we started looking for a vehicle, we were considering options for a fuel efficient vehicle but the hybrid was not really on our radar. But then we visited our local Hyundai dealership and saw the Sonata hybrid, we loved it from the first moment. It is a very well made vehicle, good technological features and the interconnectivity of the Blue Link system makes maintenance keeping up with the vehicle so much easier.
