A Real 4-Door Sedan Enjoyed by Driver and Passengers Alike

SUV's are great, but a Real 4-Door Sedan fits our needs better. The ease of entry at all 4 doors is excellent. Handling is very responsive and the ride is smooth, quiet, and comfortable. The driver and passengers have plenty of space. Speaking of space, the trunk is awesome since it is large, and you can fold down the rear seat to transport almost anything you can haul in an SUV. The hybrid engine duo is powerful enough to take on any road trip while maintaining highway speeds with great gas mileage. The electronic packages are user friendly and complement the overall performance of the vehicle.

Still impressed after 2 years

In my almost 2 years of ownership…flawless operations, impressive array of safety features and great comfort and handling. I like driving a car that finally achieves EPA gas mileage estimates. Although it took about 300 miles for the engine to fully “breakin”.

Stylish vehicle with several flaws

While there are many features that a top-of-the-line car should have, there are too many flaws to rate this car more than average. While it looks good and rides nicely, the back seat has less legroom compared to my 2017, although the trunk is larger and better configured. The front seat cushions are uncomfortable after 60 minutes, although the lateral support is good. The gas mileage is poor (with careful driving (no fast starts or excessive speeding) at barely 41 mpg, compared to the government average rating of 49 mpg. This is also less than my 2017 or 2023 models. The engine undercarriage shield rides very low to the ground, so it's necessary to be very careful with any parking space that has anything but the shortest parking blocks, and especially true if you have a driveway with anything except a low degree of incline. The instrument panel has a big display with a good mix of dials, but there are false readings at times for speed limits, don't enter warnings, failure to alert at monitored traffic lights, and several more, including speaking an address that has the number two to start a building address. And why did Hyundai flip the buttons on the steering wheel? At 9,000 miles, I still revert at times to the former placement.

Sonata fan

Have had Sonata's before and this one, except for one thing, is the best. The one thing is the turn stalk on the column to shift to D or R. I can't help thinking somebody is going to get confused by it and go in the wrong direction by accident. That's my only concern. Everything else about it is great.

Jerky low speed transitions from electric to gas.

Jerky transition at low speed, especially when parking. The car loses momentum about 3 feet short of where I want to end up. I have to press the gas pedal to get the remaining few feet, but it lurches so that I have to be ready to brake immediately. I have not noticed this behavior in other hybrids I have driven. I mentioned this when I brought it in for service, and the manager said that it takes some getting used to. I mostly like the car, but the main reason I chose this one is the entry and exit were a little easier compared to similar vehicles, especially the rear seat. The safety features are like the proximity alert aren't too smart. When backing oput of a parking spot, the proximity alert beeps furiously when the object is to the front of the car and I have it in reverse. My Sonata Limited has every bell and whistle under the sun, but does not have a garage door opener. ?

2024 Sonata

Overall love the car. I truly enjoy driving it, it looks beautiful and it is both safe and love the hybrid, high gas-mileage average - but there are some aspects that seem overly complicated and confusing - mostly in the computer system and the sound system. I drive about 28,000+ miles a year - so a lot of time in the car.

Excellent combination of value and features

I’ve been very pleased with the purchase of the premium edition sonata hybrid. The technology, comfort and efficiency have all exceeded my expectations. I commute about 60 miles a day to work and have enjoyed the full feature CarPlay integrated audio system as well as achieving over a 50 mile per gallon average of efficiency. The car. i’ve been very reliable throughout. I have really no negative feedback. The only issue I have had is the front sits very low, and tends to. ground out on parking curbs.

love the way it drives the cameras that come on with turn signals are a must for me now no more blind spots or close calls easy to see to park and back in
