Love my Santa Cruz

This "cruck" is a beauty. I love all the features, I love it's turbo power, and it is very versatile. A few things I wish they would improve....put some buttons to save seat and mirror settings for 2 drivers. Work on getting the tonneau cover to be water tight...it leaks in heavy rains. Make models with lighter colored interiors...it is black and gets SOOOO hot in Florida weather that you can burn yourself just pushing buttons inside the car.

Santa Cruz is fun!

From the beginning I wanted this truck! I am so happy that we finally decided to buy one. It is fun to drive, it does everything I need it to do. Gets good gas mileage.

After 2 1/2 years it’s great but for 1 fault

I love this truck. Small enough to fit in the garage, big enough to carry a load of plywood and a couple dozen 2x4 or a washing machine. I have only one complaint. Mice - you have to design an easy to clean screen that keeps mice out of the cabin air intake under the hood. Once there in the intake, the are in the cab and they build a nest is in the blower. The dealer has been good about taking the units apart, but they come right back. Please someone come up with a fix that prevents them from gaining access in the first place!

Only one issue

Hi, I got this in 2023 and have only had one issue, the break peddle was too low. To me it’s still low but they (Hyundai) says it’s okay…..

Really good vehicle. Comfortable on long drives and very responsive handling in traffic. Windshield tint could be better especially at top because of too much glare on bright days. Door locking system is very sensitive and locks quickly if door isn't opened promptly when grab handle to open. Message to "consider taking a break" is annoying because it comes on too often. But overall, a very nice vehicle.

Still impressed!!

Great vehicles, We have owned 5 Hyundais since 2000, and currently own 2. The Santa Cru is my favorite so far. It rides like a sedan, but can still haul small loads in the bed, and tow my travel trailer. Bought new in 2023, I have not had any issues with the features or performance of this vehicle.

My 2023 Hyundia Santa Cruz

For a new Hyundia vehicle, my Santa Cruz pickup is below average in MPG, ride quality, performance, and fit and finish. Had to have the bed cover spring assy replaced twice, kept breaking. Also, bed cover leaks water into the bed when driving thru hard rain.

Love the SC, had some issues with losing power while driving in Smart Mode but no codes showed up and dealer could not do anything. Been driving in Normal Mode and letting the SC warm up for 1 minute and no problems since.

The 2023 Santa Cruz was purchased in July of 2023. No issues until this past winter when the vehicles heat was not getting warm any longer. Under warranty, I took it to local Hyundai dealer in Centereach, NY. They acknowledged the heat wasn’t working but told me they couldn’t fix it under warranty b/c the check engine light wasn’t on. I advised them that after an online search, I discovered that Hyundais have a documented issue with the thermostat(Hyundai calls it something else) not operating properly causing heat not to work. They refused to fix it even though it was the middle of the winter and defrost was needed to clear window. Several weeks later the vehicle finally tripped a code. I brought it to different dealer and had it repaired. I was extremely disappointed by this experience, feeling like this was a safety issue. In New York, winters are severe and heat/defrost is mandatory. This issue needs to be addressed with all dealerships.

Disappointed in Hyundai Customer Service

I’m hoping Hyundai can provide a goodwill gesture for an issue that was discovered on my 2023 Hyundai Santa Cruz on July 31st, 2025. I purchased my Hyundai Santa Cruz from the Hyundai Escondido dealership on January 22nd, 2023, so I’ve had my Hyundai for a little over 2 1/2 years and the mileage on my vehicle is 49,138. On July 31st, 2025, I had a dash cam installed at DV Audio in Escondido. After the dash cam was installed, I was informed by the staff that there was rust build up on the left side of the inside dash board panel. I have the pictures if you’d like to see them. After being told about the rust build up, I immediately drove to Hyundai Escondido to show the service department what the issue was. I spoke to Brandon Martinez who informed me to schedule an appointment, so that the service department could look at the rust buildup. On August 19th, I brought in my vehicle to the service department to look at the rust build up. After having my car there for several hours, Brandon Martinez called me and informed me that they found that the drip tube was disconnected at the sunroof and implied that the disconnection was caused by DV Audio, which contributed to the rust build up. DV Audio did not have to tell me about the rust build up on July 31st and I probably would not have known about the rust if it wasn’t for them. From the time DV Audio identified the rust issue on July 31st to the time I brought in my car to Hyundai on August 19th, there is no way the rust build up could have occurred in that time frame. The amount of rust on the side of the dash board had to have occurred ever since I purchased the car on January 2023 to when the rust was discovered on July 31st, 2025. The disconnection of the drip tube had to have happened before the date I purchased my car because I didn’t even know that there was a drip tube at the sunroof. I’m asking that the rusted parts be replaced because this rust build up happened due to no fault of my own and was not caused by the installation of my dash cam. If it wasn’t for DV Audio informing me about the rust, I probably would have never known about it. I’d appreciate it if you would take care of this issue. Thanks for your time.
