New vehicle had hidden damage from the factory, it was covered up

I purchased my Santa Cruz new, I was happy with it. It always has some slightly worrying quirks, it would sometimes say some aftermarket equipment was discharging the battery, when the vehicle was stock. Finally the A/C unit started to fail and then completely failed around 27,000 Mike's. After multiple service trips to several dealers they found the issue. The main wiring harness has been hacked up, cut in places, insulation sliced through in others and then wrapped up in electrical tape or had some cheap butt connectors to try to repair the ones cut all the way through. It was then hidden under the plastic shroud on top of the engine. The field service engineer very quickly determined it happened in route it at the factory and finally decided to repair it under warranty. never addressing the fact that I purchased a new vehicle that had about$7000 worth of damage and that Hyundai then sold me a loan on that total amount. The vehicle was unsafe when it was sold to me, any number of things could have happened, there were bare wires rubbing against each other. After the fix the a/c unit went out again and had to be worked on a few weeks later. The vehicle had lost value for to this damage and repair. I started a lemon law inquiry but it doesn't hit all of the requirements. I asked for compensation due to the fact that I was sold a significantly damaged and unsafe bill of goods, I was fobbed of both times

My 25’ Santa Cruz

The versatility and agile driving characteristics of the Santa Cruz were well thought out and mostly implemented well. Some practical features are missing that surprise me, ie unibody structure but no pass through for a 4.3’ bed with some of that taken by the tonneau cover. My only other comment is directed to the interior electrical components, my start button faded in less than 6 months, I had to have my drivers side window switch replaced, and now one of the USB C charging ports is inoperative. I love the aesthetic design of the car along with its ride height although Hyundai should offer more wheel design options.

From purchase date, audio system does not stay on FAVORITES when turning on ignition (NOT GOOD) I had hoped the recent update would fix this, but no, it made it worse (NO LONGER CAN ARRANGE VARIOUS STATIONS) (plus other audio problems....IT IS A MESS) What were you thinking???? The recnet updated update was uploaded recently

good for everyday and long-distance driving, i use primary for fishing, driving off road in north Georgia. I drove 2 times in New York bringing 700LB load, no performance or any power issue. Drives like empty car.
