Very good.

AC & other characters illegible in sunlight. Symbols, numbers, etc should be larger. I have good eyes but find dashboard and other features hard to see. Owners manual could use a more detailed index, one index which includes all items in the manual.

Love it...would like to see a few changes

Love the car...very comfortable, performs well, and has many well designed features. There are a few features that seem like they should be standard on this vehicle - for example, having the car lock automatically when you walk away from it, and having the car know which driver is in the car from the key fob. My husband is much taller than I am, and if he is the last one who drove, I can't reach the pedals (and I need to press on the brake in order to start the car, after which I can select the right profile and get the seat to scoot up for me). So to start that whole process, I have to slouch way down in the seat to start the car. It's very annoying. And the controls for the fans and temperature are illuminated with blue light on a black background, which is nearly impossible to see if you're over 40.

ICCU failure stranded us on the side of the highway with a bricked car

ICCU failure completely destroyed our trust in this vehicle. This issue is commonly known (search for "ICCU failure ioniq") and still hasn't been fixed in several years. We hoped it wouldn't happen to us, but it did.

Simple and Smooth

This is a great car for just about anyone. All the bells and whistles you could want and need. Spacious and super simple to operate. The ride is smooth, the sound system is nice and it’s packed into an electric car. This is my 2nd all electric vehicle and it just reinforces my intention to never going back to a gas or ICE (internal combustion engine) car.

Well put together vehicle that is an excellent drive

Quality interior with some extras added in. Driving on the freeway is effortless, especially with HPA set. Some flaws I’ve found. The air conditioning is either extremely old or off, with little variation between. The phone charger is just a phone warmer and reading forums, everyone turns wireless charging off. It would be good to have rain sensing wipers, although not a major problem. Great that we can use Tesla Superchargers, but why did you put the charger point on the opposite side? Some stations are just unavailable to use, even when trying to back into the space as the cable is not long enough.

I am enjoying driving my Ionic 5. The only issue for me is charging the car. Its so much easier to go to a gas station instead of looking for an EV charge location. The the time it takes.

Very Unreliable Experience With 2025 Ioniq 5

Coming from a Tesla, the Ioniq 5 is a mixed bag — and unfortunately, reliability kills the deal. Performance is solid, software is decent, and native NACS support is a major plus. Wireless Apple CarPlay works flawlessly, and the heat pump is quick and efficient in both heating and cooling. But that’s where the positives end. The Hyundai E-GMP platform is deeply unreliable. Within two months of ownership, I’ve had multiple DTC error codes that left the car parked at the dealership for days. And the dealership experience? Somehow worse than Tesla’s — which says a lot. Customer service has been unhelpful, apathetic, and slow. Hyundai has made zero progress addressing the widely known ICCU failure issues that affect Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EVs — problems that have been well-documented since 2022. It’s clear they’re not prioritizing a fix. I took a gamble, and I’m grateful I only leased it. I will never consider another E-GMP-based EV until Hyundai gets serious about reliability and customer support.

I love it.

I love it. Cool, drives well, spacious, well designed, good range, and I feel cool. Love the mobile phone key, I never bring a key with me anymore, just my phone. Charging including Tesla chargers is great.

Great car/suv. A few things I would like added…

Very pleased with the Limited RWD. Wish I could change my DRLs to the very popular Amber color. Had to place some extra foam inside two of the doors to stop two rattles. Love the quality of the interior materials. Smooth and quick drivetrain. Great visibility. The app is extremely helpful for cooling the car in the summer. Really pleased. A few more customizable items would be nice. Truly a great product.
