Great EV

Very happy with car overall. Single motor not as powerful as I would have liked and SEL package missing some features. Both could have been solved with upgraded trims. Driver interface good, but not as intuitive and efficient as Tesla.

Near perfect implementation of the EV concept.

This is a great car. I've had it 4 months. These are the issues I found: 1. Gap-filling material is coming out of the seam in top of the back hatch. 2. The first seem from the bottom of the back hatch "drools" after a car wash. 3.. Sometimes the compartment environmental controls come on after the car has been shut off. Fortunately, we have caught this before it sufficiently drained the battery to become a problem. It seems to happen when you shut off the car without putting it in park first, but I don't have enough data to verify. Any questions, I can be reached at 916.833.9640 -Bill

Maybe my favorite car ever.

My wife and I truly love this car! It is her first electric car, and it has exceeded all expectations. There’s plenty of room inside, the ride is smooth, and the acceleration is great. The computer dashboard is intuitive and comprehensive.

Solid Car

Well built and easy to drive. Comfortable seats, great air conditioning and headlights. Software is a little buggy. Apple CarPlay sometimes freezes if using the Hyundai navigation system.

Amazing EV with virtually every feature I want

I traded in my Tesla vehicle in March 2025 to lease an Ioniq 5 Limited AWD, and I have not regretted the decision at all. For my driving needs, it is comfortable, versatile, efficient, and fun to drive, and it was very comfortable on a long-distance drive from Washington to California and back. The Limited provides a crisp heads-up display, driving assistance features, an excellent sound system, and a glass roof with a motorized cover. As a small SUV, it has a lot of cargo room - I have been able to put a lot of things in it, including a small arcade video game cabinet. The UI is pretty easy to use, and the instrument cluster gives me all the essential information I need without being distracting (something I was worried about on the 2024 model). The NACS port gives the car instant compatibility with Tesla Superchargers, which were still the best charges I could access along my road trip, while the included CCS adapters make it work with ChargePoint and Electrify America chargers as well. The standard rear wiper on the '25 model is a very welcome addition as well. The Ioniq is by far the most comfortable vehicle I've driven. It feels very solid, no rattles or squeaks, and I feel safe in it and don't feel that I have to second-guess the computers all the time like I did in my Tesla. There are a couple of rough edges in the software, including some quirks in the Android Auto implementation, voice-to-text dictation lagging behind competitors, and a few functions in the EV section of the UI being a little hard to access. But these are minor issues that don't reduce my enjoyment of the overall driving experience. I highly recommend this vehicle.

Fun and practical car

This car somehow manages to be both fun and practical. It has the acceleration of a 90's Lamborghini, and corners beautifully -- I never thought I'd be able to afford such a fast car. At the same time, it's spacious and comfortable inside. I wish there were a little more trunk room, but understand that it would mess up the aerodynamics and thus reduce range. Our biggest complaint is the climate control panel, and I believe that's mainly because we got the dark green interior, with off-white seats. When sun is shining on the seats, it reflects off the climate control panel, and we can't see any of the controls. I think this would be remedied by getting a dark-colored interior.

Hyundai Customer Service Is A Joke

The Hyundai Ioniq is a good electric vehicle with some imperfections, but trying to get anyone from the dealer or corporate to address and or respond to problems and issues is a nightmare of misinformation, broken promises and ghosting.

Ok car.

Air conditioner is terrible. Good outlets, good to drive but mirrors are not good and visibility is questionable.

my ride experience

With over 1000 miles on the clock, I must say that I’ve had a very good experience with the I5 this is my first Hyundai Outstanding features are ride quality and handling there have been some minor gremlins with the electronics control

Comfortable quiet smooth ride with excellent acceleration and EV range

Good economical EV is smooth and quiet. EV range is about 350 miles which I consider above average compared to my Tesla X which this replaced. It does not have advanced auto driving but is better than Tesla basic auto driving. I wish it had a reasonable sized trunk and frunk storage area and the software updates are infrequent. Map and navigation is below average with still not including the NACS charging stations in the route. Display and controls are confusing and difficult to find exactly what I want to see without referring to the manual. Rear hatch auto opening is terrible so I disabled it. It opens when I get near the garage door or walk slowly past it. It caused a paint chip when it auto opened into the garage door. I prefer the Lexus auto open hatch by waving my foot under the rear bumper area. Acceleration is good. Seats are fairly comfortable. The magnet attracting plate on the driver side is useful to attach things but it should have one on the passenger side too.
