Perfect Commuting Car

Love my Hyundai IONIQ 5! The ride is smooth, quiet, and incredibly comfortable, with plenty of space and premium interior touches. The tech features are intuitive, and the fast charging makes it super convenient for daily use. Overall, it’s a perfect balance of style, comfort, and smart design — easily one of the best EVs I’ve driven.

Great first EV

I picked up an Ioniq 5 for a pet good price. Overall I have been pretty happy with it so far. The car is very easy to drive, it's very fast when you need it to be, and you can cram a ton of stuff into it if you need to. My biggest complaint about it so far is that the center console (in the arm rest) basically fits a pack of gum and nothing else. I wish I could keep my sunglasses in there.

Great vehicle except a couple glitches

This is a great vehicle on all counts for me so far, except for a couple of glitches - 1) the sensor monitoring whether I am looking straight ahead on the road is a little off; I have seen false positives and false negatives from it 2) the carplay integration can be sometimes frustrating, it could require removing a phone from the other (inactive) profile to be able to use carplay in the current profile.

In general, I like the car and it feels great driving an Eco-friendly EV. The car's advertised estimated range is misleading, as using the AC and traveling through mountains, the energy is quickly gobbled up, and there is the fear of not reaching a charging station in time. The notion of saving a lot of money on gas is also misleading, as charging the car costs about the same, if not more. An updated electric panel and a level 2 charger at home are a must and this can be very expensive!

Its a good car. I like that I can see the speed and miles remaining right in front of me, and now the tire pressure as well. It has many more features that warn the driver than my previous cars, so I like that too. Overall, car rides very well and is silent. As a new EV owner, I still haven't gotten my range anxiety but willing to let the charge go down to a little over 100 miles before I compulsively look for a DC fast charger. Still getting used to the many features of the car, sometimes I find the menu confusing, read about the search feature, will probably use that more going forward.

Outstanding

I’ve had my ionic 5 for 5 months. It is an amazing car, the features like HUD, adaptive cruise and steering and self parking are amazing. I love finally having apple car play, and the sound system is excellent and the interior is super comfortable. I’ve been really happy with the range and the performance on DC fast charge. This is my first EV and I would highly recommend it to anyone it will change your life.

It’s ok.

Dealership/Hyundai is untrustworthy. Range isn’t accurate. No special features. Self driving options are horrendous. Can’t really self park. No drunk. Storage is garbage. Undercarriage protection is made of cheap materials and doesn’t protect the Ioniq 5.

I love the Ioniq 5. I like that it has actual buttons for the common / basic functions- seat heater, windows, mirrors, etc.

Excellent EV choice

With leasing incentives that just ended in Sep 2025 this car was an easy choice. Compared to the Equinox, Prologue the Ioniq 5 came out on top due to price and compatibility with Tesla chargers. Leasing was the way to go.

Great except for when the whole EV battery had to be replaced

Generally i really like the car, and it suits my needs and wants very well. Where a lot has been left on the table is that I am on my second hard in 4 months and the first is already being bought back by Hyundai but they are dragging their feet on getting it done. I am at about 40+ days of waiting for them to finalize the buy back offer and it's incredibly frustrating. I'd hope that their customer care would have been better and more receptive to trying to resolve this more quickly.

Great experience - first EV

I live in a remote rural area and drive quite a bit. I was nervous about range but having the ability to plug in and charge overnight has been way more than adequate. Inexpensive to run, pleasant to drive, after 2 1/2 months, I am very impressed.
