Almost perfect in every way

I cannot say how much I love my car and is without a doubt my favorite car I’ve ever had. My only check against it was when it left me stranded in a snowstorm in downtown Minneapolis due to the failed ICCU. I was without it for close to a month and that was frustrating. I also never was able to get the free NACS adapter after many months and calls of trying. I don’t know where the disconnect was but I was repeatedly told it’d be sent to me and it never arrived. I finally gave up in frustration.

Wish I could give it a zero

This vehicle is awful - completely stopped working mid driving and the company response was absolute horrible! Less than 10k miles and a catastrophic failure is unacceptable.

Love My Ioniq 5......except!

The Ioniq is great. Love almost everything about it. It's smooth, comfortable, fast charging and low maintenance. However, there was a defect in the workmanship which I fee the dealership should have taken care of but refused. Since it's only a 2 year lease and the MSRP was $54K, I assumed Hyundai would stand behind their workmanship but they didn't. The service manager said I could pay to have it fixed or wait until the expiration of the lease and just turn it in. That's what I'm doing.

Good vehicle with some quirks

This is our first EV, so there has been a learning curve. Overall the experience has been positive. See the Cons for a list of things I would change. Some of the items I've listed have been addressed in later models.

Hyundai doesn't care about their customers!

So disappointing to lease this fun, reliable, quiet, and quick EV, only to have Hyundai refuse to take responsibility and help remedy a safety flaw in the Michelin tires. Also, I hope the engineer who decided not to include a rear wiper got fired. Once the lease is up, I'll be going straight to their competitors, eager to buy something!

Great Car, With Some Caveats

Great car for driving, packaging, efficiency, and (although admittedly subjective) exterior design. OTOH, there is an over-reliance on: 1) digital controls which, with no physical "feel", can require taking one's eyes off the road to operate; 2) automatic driving/"safety" warnings which cannot be fully defeated, and which yield inconsistent results; and 3) multiple instances of levels-deep menu hunting to locate what would seem to be basic functions. Also, I swear that in certain instances there are multiple paths one can take to reach the same page(s). Oh, and... Hyundai *completely* flubbed the ICCU issue.

The IONIQ5 is the ideal EV for city driving!

The IONIQ 5 is quick, versatile, roomy and smartly designed. It has very impressive pickup, and its instrumentation is aesthetically pleasing and well-designed. The luggage area is spacious for a small car. The surprising number of miles ca. 330 at 90% charge is tops in its class. This car is an absolute joy to drive, smooth to handle and quiet with great responsiveness to abrupt traffic conditions in urban areas. In addition, the Hyundai service here in Charlottesville has been exemplary, although we've never had to ask for any serious service after about 10,000 miles.

Great car, wish it had more capability for fun.

Car is solid. works well. functions great. Took an extra point off fun to drive. Wish it had more capability for fun without needing to leap all the way to the N model. I understand most drivers have a need for conservative power-delivery, but there should still be an option within sport mode for ultra sport or N mode where full power can be delivered, even with steering input. Rear dampers are obnoxiously weak for such a heavy car, and the rear bumps around like an old pickup truck on rough pavement. Inability to turn on heated seats with remote-start option is a strange omission. Also DESPERATELY needs more bright color options. Also, taking points for exterior design and value. Body repairs are ridiculously expensive. A small fender-bender cost well over 15,000 to repair, nearly ALL in the cost of repair parts. I understand this is most of the industry now, but something needs to be done. Cars are complicated and have rigorous crash & pedestrian standards... but an accident under 10mph shouldn't cause that expensive of a repair.

It was alright

Braking and suspension tuning had some ways to go. It felt like it was short on suspension stroke which causes the brakes to cycle ABS even at slow speeds if you hit a pothole while braking.

Perfect except the 12V battery dies every 2 years

Pretty much what the title says. Car is great but one day it bricked itself because of dead 12V battery.

This is a great car overall. Needs little maintenance and drives well in all weather conditions. The few things I would change o this care are minor cosmetic things and I hope one day they get to greater range.
