Very Disappointed

I love driving the Ioniq 5....... when it starts. Consistent problems with the 12 VOLT battery going dead. No satisfaction with getting it resolved.

Love everything but the build quality

Great car overall, fun to drive and reliable. Love the seat comfort, great for long road trips and charges quickly. Software updates fixed one of my key issues with the car and it now provides an estimated state of charge at the destination when using the navigation system. We’ve had unresolved rattling issues, and the lack of wireless CarPlay and usb-c ports are surprising.

Since my last visit to the dealership to do a rotation and alignment the car trembles a little and it's not aligned.

Ioniq 5 has major flaws

Design issues: no rear windshield wiper, back end that extends beyond the protection of the bumper, poor turning radius. Bad parts: 12 volt battery failed completely at 18 months (so car would not start), AC compressor required replacement at 20 months. Poor service: Hours to get a software recall update, no loaner cars, no transportation beyond five miles.

Best car I’ve ever owned

I love my Ioniq 5 more than any other car I’ve ever owned. A smoothness of the ride, the quiet interior, and the fantastic acceleration make it a joy to drive. Although the navigation software in my 2024 is not the greatest, that’s a minor annoyance, especially since the car has Apple CarPlay. My only hesitation concerns the ICCU issues that, well they have not affected me so far, are much too common. But for me, the car has been very reliable.

Disappointed

Had been receiving communication that service maintenance overdue, then vehicle status is good and no service needed, even the manual service schedule was not due and even service dealer agreed that service not due yet. Hyundai customer service just said ignore the overdue service necessary notices. But still getting conflicting messages from Hyundai

Review

One of the biggest flaws is no rear wiper. The film on the windows makes it very difficult to see out of when it is dark and raining.

Really solid car with a few quirks

Really love this car, charges super fast and very luxurious for the price point. Has a few quirks that are not deal breakers but which could be improved on.

Small but spacious

Very compact car but the interior is surprisingly roomy. Dual motors give very sporty driving experience. Dual screens are great for control and entertainment. Three major issues; no rear wipers, no AC for 2nd row, windshield glass is very low quality.

Drive experience, great, dealership and corporate not so much

I have enjoyed driving this vehicle. It has power and is comfortable. Lots of bells and whistles that assist in the driving experience. However, the purchase experience at the dealership was quite stressful with a lot of gameplay. Corporate is not very customer satisfaction focused. Making an offer that you don’t follow through with is not good business in my book. Local dealership, automated email blasts are common, but when they ask a question, expecting comments from you and then do not reply back ever, what is the point? Bottom line, great drive experience, poor dealership and corporate experience. Also, DMV fees are much higher for EV’s which I was not made aware of and was a shocker when I got my second year DMV Bill.
