Greate vehicle but not enough auto parts

This is great vehicle to drive and great smooth ride. The only complaint I have it’s that the manufacturer do not have parts available when a recalled its made. It took more than a month for the part to get to the dealer to get my car repaired.

Hate it

I hate this vehicle, it was the worst investment I have made. I will never buy an electric vehicle. The miles are never accurate, and the recharging time is awful. In the winter I have to charge the car twice in a week because it does not hold a charge. Cant go long distances because at 80 MPH I only get two hours of driving. It is more expensive than gas.

Great vehicle with a few misses

Amazing vehicle for the price. A few misses. The trunk (or something) rattles and despite trying to fix it 3 times via the related “recall” it still makes noice. The heat comes out cold sometimes and no one knows how to fix it or believes me that it happens. The rear window doesn’t have a wiper (the 2025 does) and what would seem like no big deal is actually pretty big.

NEEDS rear windshield wiper. Too many alerts. Bad sound system. Hard suspension. Dangerous automatic breaks. Wasted space below center console. Inconvenient console lid. Limited seat functions. Haptic

Overall nice to drive, good driver interface some design flaws

1.Door handles say come and rob me if not locked 2 Rear seat heating and cooling is fai to poor 3. I have trouble getting the heated and cold seats to work well. 4. The self driving component sometimes pulls me over a double yellow line. 5 charging seems to be faster than many other vehicles that I see in similar rapid charging stations 6. Ride on rough road is fairly hard.

Near Perfect

I love everything about my 2024 Ioniq 5, except for three things: 1) When returning to my car after shopping, I prefer to open the rear hatch first, which unlocks automatically because I have the key in my pocket. But then, after I stow my items and close the hatch, the other four doors re-lock. 2) No rear window wiper. 3) Minimal battery range.

Exceeds expectation

After 14 months of ownership, our Ionic 5 continues to operate flawlessly. Range is better than expected and vehicle provides a great driving experience. Responsive, quiet, and smooth. Now if I can just figure out how to operate all of the features...

Good EV, but not perfect

Good overall and fast charging vehicle, not the best software and infotainment and no real self driving. It is also very annoying that I have to put the vehicle into one pedal driving every time I start the vehicle. It would be nice to have NACS charging standard. Good car, though 2025 update is better

A good car, great even, that is held back by a few design choices. Software settings are too complicated. It won't stay in one pedal driving mode. It needs a rear wiper. But it is very efficient, fun to drive (even in the eco mode), and it looks cool. The 2025 model year fixes some of these shortcomings, but I couldn't wait for that.to arrive.

I mostly love this car except for one glaring functional omission

It is almost the perfect car - fun to drive, exceptional acceleration, roomy front and back, excellent safety features, superb Bose stereo and much more……..but do not drive in rainy weather as the 2024 model does not have rear windshield wipers. Had I know. now what I did not consider then ( we live in California so rainy days are the exception) I likely would have waited for the newer model which I understand has rear windshield wipers.

Hyundai never disappoints

I love this car. I drove a Kona before this and they are worlds apart. Unless forced to I will never drive a gasoline vehicle again. This car is roomier than most cars I've owned. It's fun and super easy to get used to. A huge step up from the Kona.

Awesome and great car. We’re family of 4 and very comfortable and cozy. Ioniq 5 Very quiet and very affordable. Charge extremely fast. From 10% to 80% about 18 minutes, which is unbeatable. Overall, love this car.

the sensitivity of the steering wheel has been improved .

I believe that the preconditioning has improved. I also will add that with the technology available to you, it is a no brainer for you to put in an algorithm that will automatically tell the driver that it will take X minutes for preconditioning to bring the batteries to the ideal temperature for charging. (20, 10, etc.) Having the fastest charging system means nothing if charging to start at 44 kw when it could have started at 130 kw or higher. Also add it to the car when I am home and I engage the system to warm the cabin. Also you will need to add preconditioning remotely from home, hotel, shopping etc.

A snazzy hatchback: Safe, fun, versatile, comfortable, quiet.

This zippy hatchback will compliment a Lucid Gravity 7 passenger for our 2 car garage. My wife likes the styling (she's European), and I like the versatility in a shorter oil-free car. Our Hyundai Ioniq 5 misses out only on not having a usable frunk, and not having a good 2nd row climate control system (no separate temp or fan). The S. Korean version has massaging seats with passenger and 2nd row foot rests, which would have been nice.

First EV, should have purchased sooner.

Finally took the EV plunge and absolutely love the Ioniq 5. I use it as a daily commuter, which is fun, sporty, comfortable, and very reliable vehicle. I am surprised with the roominess, especially with the 2nd row and cargo area. My one and only dislike are with the door handle design. Although I understand the sleek looking design, when unlocked it is very noticeable to anyone nearby which worries my spouse when driving alone. All in all, I am very happy with the purchase.

Great first EV

Leased before the new administration forces cars to use coal directly. Great car, comfortable, great driving. EV features are clear and easy to charge. Driver tech very convenient. Some features missing will be in the 2025 (more buttons!!)

Poor quality and worse service

The car died on the road because of a faulty ICCU. Under warranty so Fremont Hyundai is getting car repaired and replacing the faulty ICCU. But the part is on reorder and it’s been 1.5 months and I am yet to get an update. Also no one from Hyundai has reached out to provide any timeline for the repair. Also I am expected to continue to make monthly payments despite the fact that I don’t have the car for which I need to make payments. And the rental I got is a gas vehicle so now I am having to pay for gas which defeats the purpose of getting an EV.

A great deal for the vehicle on a 2 yr lease. We'll see if we purchase it in 2 years. The e america plan and the price reduction for a 2024 model in 2025 was an inducement in light of the crippling tariffs to come.

Great EV, infotainment lacking

Great EV! Fast and fun to drive. Plenty of room for a small family. Charges quickly. Zero issues. Handful of small annoyances: no lock on walk away, infotainment UI is substandard, cannot remote control heated seats.

Absolutely love the car!

We love this car. Best car we have ever owned. It is wonderful and we have had no issues with it. It has been fun to drive, very comfortable, and spacious! The two years of free charging at Electrify America is also great!
