Excellent car

Great ride, good handling and acceleration. A little too complex to operate, big learning curve. No rear windshield wiper or cargo cover, in a car of this price range, is shocking. A car this size should have more cargo space. Front trunk is much too small. doesn't really have the advertised range or charging speed advertised.

Smooth

Comfortable and fun driving experience. Good infotainment system with intuitive controls. Lacks in traffic alerts on my regular commute. Car should learn my basic driving habits and give me traffic alerts so that I can take an alternate route.

Excellent but UI of screen is amateurish.

Free car connectivity should enable charging initiation at partner Electrify America. Now I need cell phone data or expensive hotspot subscription to charge at Electrify America. Would like to add second car to key fob so we don't have to carry 2nd bulky fob for second car. Would like to be able to switch fob off so we don't unlock second car when walking to usual car. (Other driver needs 2nd car to unlock with proximity and not unlock 1st car.) Speed limit indicator could be better for people who need reading glasses. 3D speed and power displays are a lot of nonsense, give us data (graph+numbers) not '3D' junk. Give us more customizable hardware buttons (not just 2). Voice command set is very limited. Having to set I-Pedal mode and lane assistance EVERY time is annoying. Climate control keeps opening air even when far below freezing, which lets very cold air in. Car heater cannot keep up so we have to keep closing air. Wastes much energy. Manual is absolutely terrible, written by software engineers and lawyers. Too much repetition of legal warnings and no way to tell what features apply to the trim level of own car. Not indexed properly, badly arranged. Printed copy hard to use, have to use PDF to find anything. BlueLink software is very buggy and unreliable. Often says "something went wrong". Support for BlueLink is very slow and then says "call customer service" after many weeks. That is not support at all. They can call Customer service, get the answers and then answer the customer. Built in navigation is way inferior to Google Maps. Thankfully we can use Android Auto Play to use maps instead. Battery conditioning switching is too obscure and only works with built-in navigation which lacks traffic data in rural areas. No indication of what 1/4 means at charging station. 1 of 4 free, or 1 of 4 in use? Display screen size is very nice. Seats are comfortable even for very tall people. Rings for cargo net hooks are very hard to open. Frunk wastes a lot of space below it, it could have much better volume. 12V battery seems to be wrong type for EV. We don't need high current type needed for starting ICE. External plug to jump start/charge 12V would be sensible. Light in trunk should use LED. Headrests of rear seats should be removable as they get in the way of large cargo items with seats folded down. Can't remove rear seats to make more cargo space. No rear windscreen wiper (fixed in 2025).

A Great Little Car With More Room Than You Realize

This fast charging Ioniq is fun to drive, has great range, decent trunk space for a hatchback, and great rear seat leg room. The only downside of the 2024 is the lack of a rear wiper. Everything else on the car feels like its gas counterpart (if Ioniq had one). Highly recommend!

Great car

The Ioniq 5 has great handling and vision. It is a fun car to drive, and it is nice to know I am not using fossil fuels to run it, nor am I polluting the atmosphere. The main disadvantage is the paucity of charging stations that it is compatible with.

Fantastic driving and owner experience

I have thoroughly enjoyed my ioniq5 with the space of an SUV and the comfort of a luxury car, and the zippy driving dynamics of a sports car. The fact that I have had two years of free charging also makes me scream from the mountains that everybody should get one of these. On the other hand, I have had more than my share of recalls, even knowing that this is taken care of monetarily it does take a bit of time. The Service Department obviously allows me to have a loaner and treats me well, but I wish it didn’t happen quite as frequently as it has.

Nice city car, needs more comfort.

I like the car, fun to drive, practical and good looking car. Needs more comfort inside, materials. Parking sensor is annoying, beeping without any reason. Love the range, reliable car. Good service.

Generally an excellent vehicle with a few minor flaws

The car is competent and pleasant to drive. Handling is very good, interior noise and ride are very good. No rear window wiper and washer is a negative, the complexity of the menu system and display options is another significant problem. Finally, the complex and now non-standard charging system is an issue.

Awesome ride

Great performance and acceleration, the auto steering Hunt and packs around a little bit, but you have to hold your hands on the wheel anyway the adaptive cruise saves a lot of manual breaking action

2024 Ioniq 5 after one year.

Amazing vehicle. A few recalls, but went smoothly, and hopefully preventive. Controls and features are intuitively designed, enabling me to keep my eyes on the road. Gentle, necessary reminders. Far more interior room than specs indicate. Handles incredibly well. Airy and calm interior. Seat fabric is durable and soil resistant.

Good hardware hampered by frustrating software

The vehicle is comfortable, drives well and has good range, but safety features are an aggravating mess of false positive alerts. I ended turning most of them off because they were more distracting than helpful, which is a huge shame. I don't like being constantly nagged that the "vehicle in front is driving away". Lack of a rear wiper is a big drawback. No location-aware scheduled charging, no mobile key for iOS, and poor visibility round out the downsides.

So everything is ok. No complaints. Not enough EV charger station.

My first EV. So far everything is running smoothly. Surprisingly drives same as an ICE vehicle. I enjoy not going to gas station. Only drawback is not enough EV charger in my area. I have to drive across town to charge.

Has a terrible smell

Loved this car until it started to smell like acetone. Dealer claimed it was due to a plant caught in the filter. They removed the plant and put febreeze packets in the car Brought it back because car smelled bad and like Febreeze. Brought it back again and they found and removed another Febreeze packet. Still smells bad and deals claims it's fine. I can't handle more than a 10 minute ride in it (my husband can tolerate the smell which is less, but still there). Aside from the smell (and before it started), car was great.

Great for driving around town

I find a lot of the computerized features a bit complicated. I didn't think I would have to take out the manual to figure out how to do things like turn on the radio or pull out the charging adapter.

Almost Excellent

I am having a very good experience with my 2024 Ioniq 5. The overall quality is great. It is solidly built. The materials have a good quality feel for this price segment. The switch gear for the gear selector and turn signals have a nice tactile quality feedback. The driver controls and infotainment technology is proving to be reliable so far after 2 months. But there is room for improvement: The steering feel is numb. The turning radius is too big. No wireless Apple CarPlay is VERY disappointing for such a technologically advanced car. There should be more physical switches for the climate controls. PLEASE EXTEND THE OFFER FOR THE FREE TESLA SUPERCHARGER ADAPTER to customers who got their Ioniq 5 AFTER JAN 1, 2025!!! I got my 2024 Ioniq 5 on Feb 3, 2025. :( Please add the Ioniq 5 N engine sound effects to all Ioniq 5's. That would add to driving enjoyment.

Well engineered but ICCU broke

Great car but ICCU blew after 13 months. So I’m not happy with reliability, turning radius, or the lack of a rear wiper (hard to see in rain due to window angle). Great ride, great design and charging time is amazing

Fun but...

FUN to drive. Miss having a coin holder and charging been between 20% and 80% means more charging than I anticipated but at 20-30 minutes for a weeks charge a quick meal means I don't even notice it and the savings in gas vs electricity is huge. And did I mention it's so much fun leaving the muscle cars behind.

Smooth ride. Excellent features.

Best vehicle I have ever owned. Pleasure to drive. I charge it at home with a Level 2 charger every few days. The only reason I don't take it on long trips is due to the ICCU and battery issues that many owners have reported.

Worst Car and Worst Car Company

Thanks for letting me review such a terrible company. Enjoy your rating. You should not be allowed to lock us into a lease, nor should you be allowed to provide us with such an unsafe car. Not worth my time to write this review, I will however, continue to let people know at the charging station I go to that nobody should lease or buy a electric Hyundai vehicle.
