Great Power, Great Car!

I really love the smooth speed in this car. It helps to navigate traffic very well. The seats are super comfortable and the car in general is very user friendly.

Love the IONIQ 5

We love our IONIQ 5; environment-friendly, maneuverable, responsive, good visibility, economical, smart headlights, roomy, quiet and comfortable. Would like more reliable mapping - sometimes gets lost or wanders in questionable circles; therefore, we, often, rely on phone gps mapping. Also, have to reset settings whenever there is a software update.

Although I had so much trouble in the beginning, I love my car. ever My car initially had many problems. The display was not functioning properly. A part was replaced. Then the car would not start and I had to jump it to take it to the dealer. This happened 3 times. The fourth time it had to be towed to the dealership for the same problem. A new part was ordered and replaced along with a new 12 volt battery. It has been working fine ever since.

Excellent automobile!

The Ionic has great mileage range and is very comfortable. Of course, as you have already corrected, the 2024 Ioniq 5 would have benefited from a rear window wiper. The factory supplied "ceramic coating" did not last more than 1 year. We had to have another professional ceramic coating applied. I suggest you either don't put one on or put a professional ceramic coating on that will last more than 1 year.

Good car, feels high end but with some odd quirks

Overall this is a very nice vehicle, among the fancier ones that I personally have ever driven. It does, however, have some quirks that push me away from wanting to buy (as opposed to lease) one -- no "walk away locks," oversensitive collision detection with beeping that you can't shut off, and an oddly-shaped back end with no rear wiper are a few that come to mind. On the plus side, it has heated seats & steering (a must for Midwest winters!), the onboard navigation is pretty good, and the phone app is included, not an extra charge like some other carmakers (I'm looking at you, Chevy). I also had an issue where the 12V battery dies if the car remains unplugged and undriven for around 48 hours, which means I need to either jump it, tow it, or plug it into one of those car battery chargers in order to start the car, because the charge port is powered and cannot be opened if the car won't turn on. Dealership maintenance was unable to find a cause.

One year with leased Ioniq5

Best car I have ever owned. Very fun and trouble free. Could use an upgrade for the front seats to accommodate long distance driving. Haven't found anything else that needs improvement.

Really good car!

Drives great, has a couple of significant design deficiencies.

We enjoy driving the car for its smooth acceleration. Range is less than desired forcing us to have a second gas powered car. Significant design deficiencies: extreme front end vibration when cold (started right off the dealer lot), lack of rear windshield wiper, lack of spare tire and more importantly a jack (nail in tire one month after purchase required borrowing a jack), ICCU recall mis-handling.

I bought it for a job that since ended...now I drive it because I can.

At the height of the most recent price insanity a few years ago, when gas here in LA was costing me $500-$700 a month to commute, I purchased my Ioniq 5 after an exhaustive shopping process. I had never really had a need for an electric car before and the hybrids I could find on the market at the time were not for me. I decided that with the offer of free charging at my work, I would try an electric, car having never once owned or driven one before. I was disappointed by the power of most I test drive. I did like the build quality of the germans and they drive well too..but they were surprisingly outdated on tech inside the car. I also loved the industry leader, but the build quality was a little lower in my opinion, which often can happen with rapid growth. Mainly, I just didn't want to drive the same car as everyone else! I then drove the Hyundai, a brand to be honest, I didn't know well. I have mostly driven big trucks or luxury cars so I am out of my league. My first test drive was so-so. I loved the look, the features, and landed a knowledgeable salesperson. I told him my dilemma, "this would be perfect if it were just faster", he smiled and said, "easy fix". We returned to the lot where the dual motor version was already waiting for me, and an hour later I was driving it home. Now, I say without any question that this is the MOST FUN I have had driving a car ever. I will miss my younger days of beach runs in my off road truck, but times have changed, and so have my interests. The Ioniq 5 has a lot of really useful practical tech, a unique design, and a whole lotta fun in your hands. Plus, this is a perfect family car when I want it to be, and fast as hell when I want to have some fun without the kids. That should not be understated either, this car is FAST! Electrical problems and missing features

Handling is not great, which is typical of SUVs, but the acceleration is exhilarating. Several important features are missing, like a rear windshield wiper and folding mirrors. We've had many issue with the 12v battery draining, requiring the car to be jump started.

Great Car

I have really enjoyed the car. My biggest complaint is the amount of recalls. It has been an inconvenience to bring it in for recalls and have to then turn around and bring it in for maintenance( tire rotation). The shop says the system won't allow them to do any of the maintenance early even if it is only 1000 miles away. So then I ha e to turn around and bring it in a month later. Other complaint is not being able to navigate to chargers effectively using the navigation. I have to pre plan long trips myself find charging stations to stop at along my route. Other than that the car has been great.
