Ioniq5 experience after 1yr driving.

Overall it's a great EV car but there are some improvements if can be made. Batter charging performance amazing. Air conditioning very good. Sensors working fine except sometimes . Inside space is OK. Trunk space less. Console need to improve. Battery drains faster Hyundai app climate control can be more intelligent auto control. Child lock position can be changed.

The car is good.

The car sensors always go off for no reason. This is a problem, the dealer says this is normal and won't fix this issue. It would be wonderful to have a bigger display screen. The car color blends in with the black pavement and people keep trying to hit me on the road. They DON'T see the car. It would be nice if the car was a little bit taller, so other cars can see it.

If you wish to learn more about the sensors please refer to Chapter 7 in the owners handbook. You will notice that some of the different safety features use the same cameras and sensors as other features. The handbook can explain how to adjust or disable these features. ^ cc

Best car I’ve ever owned

This car hits all the right notes. It has amazing acceleration, charges as fast as any EV, and to top it all off Hyundai threw in 2 years of free charging. I honestly couldn’t ask for more.

Very reliable car

I have this car for a year now abd run about 15k on it. No problems at all, low maintenance and economical. I just wish they would have blue tooth apple car play.

2024 has huge design flaws

Love everything about the car except the glaring design flaw of no way to clean rear window and design even prevents a car wash from cleaning

Love it!

It's comfortable and so far very reliable. I've never run into any issues with battery life, and it's a lot of fun to drive.

Awesome till the ICCU failed and the car bricked

I've had my Ioniq 5 for 13 months, and driven just over 14,000 miles. Overall, it feels like a luxury car. The performance, features, and range are great. I enjoy driving it, and it's comfortable for my long commute. Unfortunately, the persistent quality control issue with the ICCU struck me at 5 am on the freeway, and my car was suddenly incapable of driving over 25 mph. It took 5 days at the dealership for repairs to be completed. It's frustrating to have spent so much for a car, and to have it fail so catastrophically with only 13 months of use. I wish I could wholeheartedly recommend it, and I would have done so if not for the ICCU issue, but despite the car's features and driving being great, the reliability is an issue that leaves me hesitant to recommend or purchase another Hyundai.

Ioniq5 Excellent, except for electrical issue

Everything is great with the Ioniq5, except I had a problem with finding the 12V drained. After having it towed to the dealer on 4 separate occasions for the same problem (and leaving it for up to 4 weeks at a time), it was not fixed. Luckily, I found on Reddit that others had similar problems, and several people found that third party SW that monitors/controls charging can screw up when the 12V can charge. Once I disabled the App that the electric company recommended, it seems to work fine. (the service dept seemed stuck on testing if the battery was draining, and never really tested if it was charging!)
