I love it and I hate it

It's such a fun car to drive but it's been in the shop for 3 of the 13 months I've owned it.

Great Tesla Alternative Bad Customer Service

The car is an excellent EV and maybe the only reliable Hyundai vehicle the range is excellent and charging speed is phenomenal. The only thing is customer service. I have been waiting for over 5 months for the NACS to CCS adapter and still no answer or solution. Other than that it's an excellent vehicle. The only worthy non Tesla EV available

main battery failure after 1 year, under 8,000 miles

Currently sitting in the shop waiting on a new main battery, at lease warranty covers the rental cost for a replacement Ioniq 5 in the same trim.

Betterbthan I expected

My first electric vehicle. I love it. It rides and handles in a class with the BMW that it replaced but the seats are not as good as the BMW. I tried to buy (or lease) a new one but my local dealer was impossible. He refused to honor a nationally advertised leading offer and got rude when I asked why. So I found a slightly used one and have been happy.

2024 Ioniq 5 Review

Overall a great electric car with a few quirks. No rear windshield wiper which I’ve been told has been put into the 2025 version of the car. Heated seats and steering wheel controls should be buttons on the dashboard or steering wheel. Basically easier to use when driving. When locking the car, it takes almost 2 seconds for the locks to engage. It should be immediate. You can’t lock the car from the rear doors. Locking the car should be from all doors. If a door is open, you can’t lock the car. But if the back is open you can’t lock. Hyundai app doesn’t recognize my EVIQO charger when plugged in and not charging If a door is open, you can’t lock the other doors. All doors must be closed for the locks to engage. Outlet to charge car should be in front of car.

Wish I never got it

The battery life on this car gets worse and worse every charge. The heat blows out cold air when I have the fans on 8 and the heat on 76. When im charging it'll go from 80kwh then drops to charging at 4kwh. I have brought this up to Gary Rome and pretty much told it was my problem even though it happened at one of their charging stations

Great car, mostly

Super quick, reliable, charges super fast on DC fast chargers, nice hands-free (for short intervals) mode, and all around great car...except: 1. Front seats are uncomfortable. It comes up about two-thirds of the way on my back and then slopes backward at an angle so if I try to rest my head on the headrest while driving, the middle of the seat back presses uncomfortably on my back. Could not fix using all the adjustments. Effectively like having a very low seat back. Secondly, don't try to accelerate while cornering. Starts to shimmy and slide, as if car can't handle it's own ability to accelerate. But I love it.

far and away the best car i’ve ever owned

this car replaced a 2022 ioniq hybrid ltd and i couldn’t be happier. it contains every convenience feature from the previous vehicle and then some. that’s not even taking into account the joy of ev ownership. i’m never going back to an ice vehicle. no other ev in its class/price at the time i purchased it offered all of the features i was looking for (and a few features i never even knew i wanted).

Perfect around town- not a road trip car.

The biggest flaw is the range. It’s stated range assume not external factors such as weather, hills, or road conditions. I’ve Devin it from Phoenix to Los Angeles and needed to stop three times to ensure I had enough power to get around after arriving. This is for a 380 mile drive. In town it excels at saving costs on gas. Perfect for the short trips here in the city. Good amount of space in back (more cargo room than the Audi Q5 surprisingly).

Great little car

I love my Ioniq 5. It’s a zippy little car with great acceleration and handling. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it doesn’t have a rear wiper. Big mistake, especially since we live in snow country and it’s impossible to see out the rear window when it snows or sometimes when it rains. We only drive it around town and have yet to take it on a trip because of the lack of chargers. We still plan to get the Tesla converter, which will make trips more accommodating with more charging opportunities and the ability to plan for stops.

One year review: still love it

It was worked flawlessly. only complaint is apple car play not functional. get good mileage with each charge. and average 4.2 miles/kwh. with mixed freeway and city driving. only thing the did at the one year checkup is rotate tires.
