Great car

Very reliable so far. Efficiency is as described. Now with a NACS adapter not concerned about taking long trips. Rear motor drive is plenty powerful. Only real complaint is the front door panel tweeters are not very good on the SEL. Other speakers are good. Highway driving assist works great.

Great car!

I appreciate this cars, excellent performance, charge curve, and size. I think this car offers good value for money, and I enjoy driving it. It is also a proven practical and transporting my family. I would read at five stars if maintenance service were better, if it were more reliable, and if the app worked better.

We love this car

We love this car. It is comfortable, fun to drive, and economical due to no gas or oil changes needed. The only drawback is the slow charging and lack of charger infrastructure, preventing long driving or even day trips. We just received a free fast charge adaptor, so maybe that will help the range fear. The only other concern is the lack of a spare tire, and the expensive nitrogen tires

My favorite vehicle ever

We were eager to explore the world of EVs, and made the first leap with a Kona EV. It was a great vehicle, but just a bit smaller than was comfortable. We upgraded our lease to our current Ioniq 5 and have loved it so far. The styling and features are great, the service team at Folsom Lake Hyundai have been fantastic. Were a bit over 2 years into our lease and the only issues we've experienced are with various rattling noises, including the right rear retractable sun shade and the rear trunk hatch. We've had service for these items and they are mostly resolved, but still present in some form. Definitely minor issues in the scope of the overall vehicle experience, but worth mentioning.

Great car, great range, two nit-picks

I've been super happy with the car but the rear hatch has a rattle and the speedometer is hard to read because of how it is positioned on the screen

Fantastic EV - and they fixed the stupid on the new one!

The Ioniq 5 is simply a great car. The ride is squarely between a luxury car and a sports car. it is well appointed without being pretentious, and for the most part, the controls are intuituve. A nice mix between screen accessed features, and knobs and buttons. It feels like a very modern CAR. The seats are very comfortable, and it looks great! My one complaint, and the "stupid" I referred to in my title, is that for the fist iteration of this model, which I have, there is NO REAR WIPER! They even add insult to injury with a display that says FRONT wiper when you engage the windshield wipers! I live in a climate where it rains a lot, and no amount of RainX helped. I am grateful that they have corrected this large oversight in the latest version of the car, and I am considering another one when my lease is up in a year. They have also made the car compatible with Super Chargers, which is a big win. Kudos to Hyundai for continuing to improve, and for making a great product!

Great vehicle, but not great dealerships!

This car is an amazing car, even better that it's an amazing EV. Reliable, fun, edgy, and fast. Any time I have to drive a different car it's like stepping back into the past.

All around great EV

Not too huge and tall, but plenty of interior room and very comfortable. Great commuter vehicle and extremely quiet in the cabin. Plenty of power when you want it too.

Great Value EV

The lease deal on this Ioniq 5 was the best thing going in 2023; the free Electrify America charging made it even more so. It's fun to drive, quick to charge, and has great features comparable to significantly more expensive vehicles. As with many EV's, the range is significantly overestimated for real world use. My only real complaint is the incomprehensible omission of CarPlay to integrate iPhone use with the otherwise great user interface. I would have appreciated CarPlay especially for GPS navigation because the built-in system often recommended significantly longer or less efficient routes compared to Apple Maps.

I love my ioniq5

The buggy ICCU problem continues even after almost 3 years. This defect should have been resolved by now. And the design team royally screwed up when they didn’t add a rear window wiper.

Smooth ride, beautiful vehicle

I love almost everything about my Ioniq 5. It looks great, drives great, and is super comfy on the inside. Good speaker quality, great physical buttons, nice feature set all around. I have only two complaints, one is that when autosteer stops steering it gives me no warning in most cases, or little warning in some cases. The other complaint is that it tries too hard to control my behavior. For example, if I want to leave the car on, a small warning is appropriate, but not a long blaring sound combined with not letting me lock the doors. That goes beyond a friendly warning and moves into an imposition, an attempt to control my behavior in a way that is not its right. I might have a good reason for leaving it on in utility mode while I'm gone. What if my dog is in the car? What about equipment I want to keep cool or warm while I'm away from the car for a bit?

Great Car…when it works.

I like the car but this model year in particular has a bad reputation for faults and the resale value is atrocious. I am currently totally upside down financially and I can’t get rid of it without writing a check. The reputation seems to be warranted as well. We had a fault that kept ours at the dealer for well over a month.

ICCU replacement

The vehicle was great for 2.5 years then the ICCU part failed and the first ordered part arrived damaged and the second come useable. The vehicle was not useable for more than 8 weeks.

there is a lot to love with the Ioniq 5. Spacious, comfortable, and convenient, it’s a great vehicle for driving around town and the occasional road trip.
