5th Hyundai, no serious complaints.
I'm over 41,000 miles on the car that I purchased November 2023. I've made lots of road trips and it hasn't let me down. Most of the issues I have are minor, such as the locking system with the front door handles makes me crazy, and I really miss the button that previous cars had. When I need it to open it won't unlock and when I don't care so much everything is typically fine. It's kind of frustrating and silly looking to be standing next to your car moving your hand every which way trying to get it to unlock while you have stuff in your hands and you can't reach the key fob. Speaking of the key fob, another dislike I have is that you can't physically push the door lock button, close the door, and walk away unless you have the key fob in your pocket. It won't lock. If I leave my keys in the house because I don't need them on me but I'm cleaning the car or loading up the car or unloading the car, I can't simply lock the door and go inside for the night. I have to go back in and get the key fob and then lock the door. Previous Hyundais I've had had a separate door lock and I really miss those. I don't use it anymore because I don't trust it, but the onboard navigation on my SEL convenience stinks. I never use it for actual directions because I know it's not going to show me the best way to go, so I use third party apps. It's fine if I just want to see where I'm at but not find at all when I actually need to navigate. I really wish there was an option to turn off the data feed and just use maps that are stored locally because I think that's a lot of the issue, relying on the data feed for traffic and such. Those aren't deal breakers, just minor annoyances. Oh, I've inadvertently hit that speed limiter function and locked my speed in it 20 miles per hour three different times, always inadvertently. The first time frankly freaked me out when I had a truck bearing down on me and I couldn't get out of my own way! I know what the issue is but that doesn't really help when it's deployed and you realize it right after you pulled out in front of heavy traffic. I don't know if I'll buy another Hyundai if it's equipped with that steering wheel mounted sensor because I see so many complaints about it. That may actually be a deal-breaker when it's time to make another purchase.
