My husband and I are enjoying our 2025 Hyundai Sonta lease. Everywhere we go people are amazed by the luxury of the car. It's a very attractive car with safety features that keep us safe.

Drives fine and is reliable. Software is disappointing.

Car is reliable. Drives well. Has plenty of power. Nice big sunroof. Sound system is decent. On the negative side, they skimped on some pretty basic features such as wipers that turn off when it stops raining. My biggest issue is the software and sensors. Where do I start? I am tired of being told my lights are off in broad daylight. Or that I need to take a break for some coffee because the lane lines flow in an odd manner. Every time the SW re-downloads with a new drop, some things stop working, other things start working again. For example, last SW download the alerts you are approaching a red light camera started happening again. They mysteriously disappeared download before last. But it's really kinda infuriating to me that my wifi CD player can no longer connect to the car. Something they did in the SW broke the compatibility, and now I can't listen to my own music. You have to wonder what the heck their SW regression test plan looks like. Something like this should not happen. Too many useless SW features, and an inability to not break things when they muck with the code. Oh - it was automatically stopped while I was backing up even though I was not close to anything - I don't want my car taking control of itself under any circumstance. I don't even recall this being a documented feature?

Here it describes the features, how to change settings and other information about the features. If additional information is needed there are Youtube videos available as well. ^cc

This is our 2nd Sonata. We had a 2017 and traded it for a 2025. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another one.

Great on paper not in practice.

In day-to-day execution, however, critical technology flaws and a deeply unrefined powertrain logic turn this premium commuter asset into a persistent and frustrating liability. The Good (On Paper) The Blueprint: From a design and specifications standpoint, the vehicle ticks every box. The cabin ergonomics are refined, the power delivery is potent, and the digital interface is visually stunning. The Performance Promise: It pairs a high-output turbocharged engine with a wet dual-clutch transmission (N DCT), a setup engineered on paper to deliver lightning-fast, crisp shifts and an engaging, sports-sedan driving dynamic. Very Nice Car

I have a Sonata N-Line. I love the handlkng and acceleration. The car has a great ride and filters out noise. The passenger compartment is suitable for four adults. It also has good trunk capacity. My exterior is Carbon Blue and it is beautiful. My only complaint is that under hard acceleration the front wheels break loose and it is a fight to control. If it had AWD it would be a 5 star car.

It’s average for a full size sedan

It attempts to emulate the quality and performance of the Camry and the accord and comes short. It has all the features but it’s all average. The redeeming quality is the price fits the quality.

Great features, meh MPG

The infotainment system is fantastic: Clear, large, bright, and customizable. The auto lane centering features and remote start is also supremely useful coming from a car without either. However the smart cruise is too sensitive and if a car turns it idles far too long when the lane is obviously clear and needs to be disengaged and reingaged. Additionally, while obviously not an SUV or truck, it's gas mileage isn't great.

Don't bother

The 'emergency braking' goes off when turning into an empty parking lot or when traffic goes by in the street outside the parking lot. Little things keep breaking, like windows stop opening and trim comes off. Doesn't help that the dealership service department doesn't respond even after 4 contact attempts. Fifth and last Sonata I'll ever own because, yes, it's that annoying of a drive.

The "Grey Wolf"

Due to the license plate issued to us that has "WLF" in it, and the color of our vehicle, my wife nicknamed the "Grey Wolf". The car is sleek looking as they come, especially for a 4-door. While it's not a sports car, from some angles, it has that look. Runs great, and the interior almost looks like sci-fi because of all the gadgets, which we love. I'm a big guy, and I'm actualy more comfortable in this than I am in my full-size pickup, with plenty of leg room. And the add on 10-year bumper-to-bumper warranty we added at the purchase gives us great feeling of comfort and security.
