Too Many Alarms

The amount of alarms the vehicle has is jarring. They're more distracting than helpful and cause the driver to jerk rather than be aware of a possible collision therefore almost causing a collision. The menu screen is not intuitive. One has to navigate through multiple screens before the needed setting is found. The lack of knobs for controlling the radio or air is dangerous. One should not have to keep looking at a screen to find settings while driving. The air vent placement and lack of individual airflow adjustment is irritating. The passenger should not be forced to have the same amount of airflow as the driver. If the driver or passenger doesn't want the air blowing at them, the vents are forced to blow at the other passenger or be shut completely off. The gas and brake pedals need to be adjustable to the driver's height. If the driver is short, they must sit dangerously close to the steering wheel. The vehicle also needs more or larger storage compartments. The second row also should be able to adjust their air according to their preferences and not have to rely on the driver.

2026 Santa Fe good overall but it lacks finishing touches.

I am basically happy with my new Santa Fe, but Hyundai could have taken a few extra steps to bring it up to the premium vehicle it wants to be. The biggest negative is the cabin noise when driving. The sounds of the engine and the road are pronounced, even with the Bose stereo on. The sunroof has regressed from a great panoramic roof to an opening the would be more appropriate for a small, mid-range sedan. On top of that it isn’t even fully automatic. The button will open the shade and the roof but you have to manually pull the shade to close it. The sunroof in my 2017 Santa Fe was considerably better, both in appearance and functionality. While in no way a true negative, the gear shift is pretty ridiculous in look and use. It feels like a gimmick with no purpose.

2026 Hyundai Santa Fe SE

In January 2023 I bought a new KIA Soul LX and have found it to be a very easy to drive, maneuverable and enjoyable car. With 32k miles the car's displayed overall average mpg is 40.2 with conservative driving. I decided to buy the Santa Fe to replace a 2018 Pacifica (white with "Cognac" / tan interior) with 73,000 miles, selling the Pacifica outright. The Santa Fe's comfortable ride, smaller size, maneuverability, power and lane keeping feature made it attractive to me. I am impressed with the engine performance and economy. The strong torque is noticeable on hills and whenever acceleration is needed. The transmission is smooth, makes understandable shifts and is responsive. Driving conservatively with a light foot delivers 30 mpg+. I'm glad the SE model has 18" wheels. Larger ones and lower profile tires would not ride as smoothly. Disappointment - the interior in black only. Would far and away have preferred tan or grey. Black makes it hard to see things in the car, and it makes it more of a solar collector. In an attempt to lighten the cabin appearance, I installed WeatherTech gray colored floor mats. I wish the wheels were more conventional-looking alloy rims. Disappointment - minimal instrumentation. No compass. I purchased on Amazon for $57.99 a gauge that has compass, altimeter, exhaust gas temperature, boost pressure, voltage, engine oil temp, engine coolant temp, GPS speedometer, inlet air temp, fuel level percent, engine load percent, and RPM. This is the first turbocharged car I've owned, and it is good to have more complete instrumentation. My 2018 Pacifica had lots of readouts and compass as standard. In fact, my '94 Plymouth van, '94 Chrysler New Yorker, '96 Chrysler Concorde, '97 Dodge Grand Caravan, 2000 LHS and 2005 Town & Country all had compasses.

Little to complain about

Overall very nice. I really like the digital dash. The turn view in the dash (from the side mirror, initiated by the turn signal) is a great feature. I do find the function of the various cruise control controls a little confusing. And the ability to dial through frequencies on FM radio is limited to some odd circumstance that I haven’t identified. I liked the dot on the speedometer for showing the speed limit, but that seems to have disappeared in a software update. It is a very nice and luxurious vehicle.

It’s not horrible. Just not what I’m used to and for the price point, in this economy at least here in GA, we couldn’t afford to get a Santa Fe with all my bells and whistles. So I’m stuck. I came from a 2021 Palisade Limited so this was a step down which still cost more than it should with no creature comforts.

Another Great Hyundai

Love this Santa Fe. I’ve had the Elantra and Tucson and all three have been great. I particularly love the Santa Fe for the smoothe ride, amenities, interior layout and light color interior makes it feel even more spacious than it is. I love every thing about it so far!

Safety items are FAR TOO CONSERVATIVE

Your focus is clearly on product liability concern rather than customer satisfaction. There are hundreds of missteps, but the worst is the constant nagging of every safety system continuously squawking when no actual threat exists…turn down the sensitivity if you want to build a quality vehicle. Not only are these systems too sensitive, they are unrelentingly annoying. My Cadillac will give an occasional nudge if a seat belt is not buckled. The Santa Fe has a CONTINUOUS LOUD BELL, never stopping until the belt is buckled. Try sitting in the car, start the motor to allow the engine to warm up in the driveway and roll down the window to have a conversation with someone outside the car. If the seat belt is not fastened, the conversation is impossible! And who is the idiot who came up with the switch to toggle on/off daylight savings time? The car is smart enough to know what time zone it is in, but can’t figure out daylight savings time? Ridiculous!

Best car I have had

This is the best car I have had. Drives and rides smooth. Very easy to handle. There is nothing I do not like about this car. I got Red, which I have never owned, but I love it, and the way it is trimmed out in black. I haven't found anything I didn't like about it.

I did not buy this vehicle

Someone at the dealership found a M**e D****y in the system which was me, but the sale was to another person with the same name. Since then I have been inundated with emails for this car which I did not buy. I asked the guy at the dealership to please fix the issue, but it was never fixed.
