It is a great vehicle, but the gas mileage is a bit disappointing.

I really like my 2025 Santa Fe Calligraphy. I really wanted a Kia Sorrento SX Prestige Hybrid but none were available in the Sarasota-Bradenton-Tampa-Ft. Meyers area when I was looking in late December 2024, so I chose the Santa Fe as it had 0% for 48 months. I very much enjoy driving the vehicle but my wife thinks it's too big. It actually is not. It is one half inch shorter than my 2008 Toyota Solara Convertible. My only disappointment is the fuel economy. I have gotten as much as 26.8 mpg on the highway but it usually averages close to 25 mpg, far short of the 29 mpg advertised. The transmission also shifts rough at low speeds when the vehicle is "cold", in otherwords when I first pull out of the driveway.

Enjoy most everything about this car except two things:

The two biggest problems are the digital key technology. Sometimes the door won’t unlock when you walk up to the vehicle and touch the inside of the door handle. Other times the car won’t start even though the iPhone is in the vehicle with you and even on the charge pad. You have to go find the key fob in order to start the car. The second area of concern is the lack of acceleration from a stop. This is a front wheel drive 2.5 L turbo non-hybrid. There is absolutely zero power for the first second or two when you step on the accelerator. It can actually be dangerous at times. There is a massive lag at throttle tip in that I would attribute to either poor engine mapping and/or turbo lag. And no, I do not have the auto start/stop turned on. It’s quite maddening at times. The front wheel drive turbo version also needs limited slip as once the turbo does kick in the right front wheel will spin and you will have pretty massive torque steer Otherwise, I like pretty much everything else about the vehicle.

Great vehicle EXCEPT tires on calligraphy model

I bought this vehicle 1 year ago. I loved the vehicle and found it a great value for the money. The dealership was also very good for repairs, scheduled maintenance and recall issues. However, I sold this vehicle after having it one year. This was due to 2 issues: 1) the tire/rim combo on calligraphy edition. The tires on this vehicle are a very rare size. Secondly, they are 21 inches. Thirdly, they are Pirelli tires that are not durable AT ALL and very expensive. Also, the size of the tires lends itself to a very thin sidewall. Due to all of the above these tires are very easy to go flat, hard to replace when this happens, and very expensive. In one year, I had issues with all 4 tires, was stranded out of town 4 times (no one had the tire in stock), and they cost approx $550 to replace each time. I spent $2200 on tires in one year. This is a ridiculous choice of tire for this type of vehicle. I would never had bought this model if I realized that. 2) This vehicle sits low to the ground and if you get a hitch put on, it sits way under the vehicle. For this reason, I had to put an extender on the hitch just to carry bikes on a hitch mounted bike rack and then it scrapes the ground every time you go up and down a hill or driveway. I hope Hyundai fixes these issues bc for me, they were significant but otherwise it is a great vehicle.

We replaced our 2014 Santa Fe with the 2025 model. We decided to splurge on the Calligraphy trim package and couldn't be happier. The level of luxury for the price is phenomenal!!

Best car I ever owned

I was an accountant at Ford Motor Co. for 34 years and thought I would only drive a Ford for the rest of my life. After receiving only $500 for a Flex that just quit on us at night two hours away from home. We had the car hauled to a place that said the car was done. A friend had a Hyundai and we liked it. We went to the dealership and were stunned by the features available for the amount of money required. We have never regretted our purchase. Another problem Ford has is their dealers. The Ford L/M dealership in Tallahassee is the worst dealership we’ve ever dealt with. They shouldn’t be in business
