Great Features / Buggy Software

The amount of features for the price of the vehicle is great value. However, software bugs causes volume from radio, turn signals, etc...often disappears until the software is reset.

Great vehicle with a few serious flaws

Love the design, the space, the ride, the dependability, and the quiet interior. However, two items are intolerable: 1) the driver inattention warning system is too aggressive and, unlike other systems like lane departure warning, it can't be disabled by the driver. The Owners Manual even warns that the system can issue false warnings if the driver is wearing sunglasses, and goes on to say that it can also be tricked if the driver squints his/her eyes - what other choices are there? The system once gave me 17 warnings in a 2,5 hour trip. It also cancels cruise control without adequate warning, causing a sudden deceleration of the vehicle which could lead to an accident; and 2) the HVAC and other controls which are in the center console, minimally backlit, and tilted up toward the driver cannot be read in bright sunlight. The icons are too small and the backlighting is way too dim. The lighting is so dim that it's often impossible to tell when you've turned a function on or not. This requires the driver to divert attention that should be directed toward the road - AND IN DOING SO TRIGGERS THE DRIVER INATTENTION WARNING!!! I want to be clear - we will NOT purchase another Hyundai, Kia or Genesis vehicle that has the driver inattention warning system that cannot be disabled by the driver, nor one where the HVAC and other controls require taking one's eyes off the road. It's too bad, because other than these two issues, it's a great car.

Terrible Dual-Clutch Transmission

The car would be excellent if it was not for the Dual-Clutch transmission on the gas (non-hybrid) model.

Review

The vehicle is fine, that's all. I'm currently having an issue with a "transmission system failure" light that came on during a drive. Suggested that I check the transmission fluid, which is impossible given that it's a closed system. I had to have the vehicle towed 108 miles to the dealership, as I wasn't sure what was happening, and I didn't want to have further issues by driving it. The dealership (Planet Hyundai in Golden, Colorado) had the vehicle for 10 days, 8 of which were work days. On day 5 I was finally offered a loaner, on day 6 they finally performed diagnostics and let me know they found nothing and no stored codes. The wanted to drive it the next day (day 7) to replicate the problem, however they were "slammed" and didn't get to it. I picked up my vehicle and will take it do a different dealership that hopefully has customer service and will actually see what the problem is. The car is a 2024 and has 31,000 miles on it. This shouldn't be happening.

My futuristic car

Lots of high tech gadgets on this vehicle. Some of which, I found extremely annoying, others pretty cool. I purchased this car used in October 2025 and am still on a learning curve. Overall, very pleased with style, comfort, handling and gas mileage for the size of the vehicle.

Would Change Some Features; Numerous Recalls

My first smart car, so my review skewed. I still prefer my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe over my 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe and was not planning to replace it until another driver on the road totaled it. There are features on the lower dash that I would 100 percent change if I had the option, particularly the parking camera engagement. It is far too far away from the driver, where other unnecessary features are closer and infrequently used. The interior cabin camera cannot adjust to bright sunlight or polar eyeglass lenses and regularly sends warnings that eyes are not on the road, which is just not the case. I have had the 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe for 2 years in April 2026 and am still not fully comfortable parking it in various situations, which has never been the case with any other vehicles previously owned.
