Issues with auto engine shutoff sum. While parking it will shutoff before I can put it in park. Fan will still run run if I’m not paying attention.

Most comfortable car we have ever driven

The ride on the Santa Fe is VERY comfortable. Nicest car we have ever owned and we have been driving for 50 years! We love everything about it!

Next Family Vehicle

Was looking for that next family SUV that was bigger than my last (VW Tiguan). This vehicle wasn't my first choice and didn't know about it until I saw a commercial. Immediately fell in love. And once I took one for a test drive, my decision was made. It was official, this was the vehicle I wanted.

Good Value for the price but specific issues make it a less than great

Compared to other similar priced and size SUV's on the marketing, The Santa Fe is a clear winner. The brand has well known past market concerns regarding warranty and durability and those concerns are shared by me based upon how certain maintenance and wear concerns were handled by the service department from the dealership where I bought the car. Additional i I found the inability for the dealership to find creative ways to facilitate an upsell to a newer more expensive Hybrid model somewhat disappointing. If the dealer who has sold me the vehicle cannot support an upsell to a more expensive vehicle, then that raises concerns about the long term value of my purchase versus other vehicles which I would consider in the future

Nice SUV, Terrible Transmission

This SUV would be great if it did not have. DCT transmission. I regret not getting the Hybrid.

Love my car

Overall perfecrion. Only issue is with the quality of paint. Ive had several brand new cars and this is my first with hyundai. Ive never had paint chip this easy.

Not sure I understand this question

Good vehicle basically. One of my issues though is with the Driver Assistance. When activated and you are driving along the highway, it tends to come on more than it should. This causes undo stress, as I am focused and looking forward but it keeps coming on

If I had to do it all over again, I would do it differently.

After purchasing the vehicle, software updates have affected how quickly the vehicle goes in to gear from park. Additionally, it seems like the vehicle shifts differently causing the vehicle to respond/accelerate differently than when purchased- feels less "peppy"... I can only assume this is to "fix" the transmission issue that emerged for this model. It feels like we've been "baited and switched" by Hyundai- we purchased an amazing vehicle based on how it performed at the time of purchase, only to have the performance changed/reduced soon after due to software updates. Also, the vehicle temporarily turns itself off when we stop to parallel park. In general, the "gas saving" auto shut off doesn't save a significant amount of gas, but is extremely dangerous and has even "disabled" the vehicle several times when we really needed to "take off/go". This is negligent on Hyundai's part and is going to get people killed. At the very least, the switch to turn this death trap "feature" off should not reset when the vehicle turns off / You shouldn't have to remember to switch this off every time you get in the vehicle. The horrible experience with the Hyundai dealership (Hyundai of Hickory Hollow, TN) we purchased the vehicle from has destroyed the positive perception we initially had of the Hyundai brand... we quasi-resolved some issues with the dealership but are still waiting for the "lost" mechanical keys the dealership promised but did not include at the time of purchase. It's been over a year and the last time I reached out to the dealership/salesperson, I never heard back. The Hyundai 100K/10yr warranty was a deciding factor in our purchase decision but with such a terrible dealership, the warranty now feels meaningless. (As in "good luck" working with the dealership/Hyundai if you end up having a warranty issue.") I cannot stress enough how much dealership experience influences perception of the Hyundai brand. I hope Hyundai takes its reviews seriously to read/comprehend this. Hyundai has a lot going for it in general but as of right now, I wish I would have gone a different route.

This is a great vehicle, with great gas mileage.

I've owned this vehicle for one year with 25k miles now, and had to get a new transmission installed. Luckily it was under warranty, and the dealer took care of everything.
