Okay Vehicle

Transmission is not smooth... especially when slowing down or when cold start. Sounds like something is breaking. It's for sure wet DCT is not at all reliable. Those who bought 2024 Sante Fe are been fooled as they discontinued the wet DCT.

Good potential, but very crappy software

The biggest issue I've had has been stepping on the accelerator and not having the car respond. This can be quite dangerous if turning left on a busy road and the car doesn't respond the way you expect even though you're stepping on the gas pretty hard. This had been infrequent, but very troubling. The software updates of late I think have helped, but this issue has not completely gone away. Also from a safety perspective when text messages come in they no longer display or get verbalized (by the computer). One updated worked and now it's back to not working again. When the car is running, but parked I can't use the keys to open the car. Why? So frustrating if shopping. Minor issues, car does not remember favorites, you have to select every time (should remember last selection), defaults to all for music. Only some apps on apple car play are supported (only those apps should cause the car to go into apply car play), but once again the software people are soooo stupid that even when in Safari or some other app that's not supported they change the radio mode (if I'm XM radio or just checking email) and put the car into apple car play. Often I'm a passenger w/wife driving so it's safe for me to surf. These are easy changes. I feel this car was not properly tested and the fact that these changes are still outstanding almost 2 years later is pathetic. The seatbeat warning should give me more time and it's shouldn't be constant. Maybe 10 seconds on, 30 seconds off, etc. Really annoying. Headrest should be a little more adjustable for neck angle (backwards).

Comfortable car but complicated

The Santa Fe has a lot of nice qualities. Its smooth, comfortable, fit and finish is excellent. But I will never buy another without big changes. 1. Can't lock the car with the doors open. Can't walk outside without the key fob and lock the doors. 2. It has had a few instances of a bizarre and unexplained slowdown as power was cut to the engine. This even happened as we were pulling out onto a 6-lane road and cars were approaching quickly. I put it to the floor and couldn't get over 25 mph! Dangerous! Limp mode at its worst! 3. Sometimes the HVAC fans stay on after the car is shut down. Once I went out to the car 3 hours after shutting it off and the fans were running. 4. Engine shuts off when stopped at a light or in traffic, even on very hot days. The engine going on and off makes it difficult to drive smoothly. 5. I found out, AFTER I bought it, that this car is subject to being shut down by authorities remotely. Never again Hyundai.

I do not like the transmission shift lever. When baking up with the bike rake attached to receiver hitch it will brake as if you are going to back into something.

Well put together car but underpowered

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe calligraphy edition is a well thought out car packed with safety and convenience features being surprisingly roomy for 3 rows of seats. Aside from the sterilization cabinet which feels like an afterthought, the main downside of the car is the lack of get up and go in the engine/gearbox configuration that was fully evident in the 2023 Santa Fe calligraphy edition.

SantaFe Caligraphy edition

Great design, look, features. Transmission feels weak & unstable, not durable. Engine fan is extremely loud at times. If it was solid i would love the car.
