Good but can be Better
I purchased two 2023 Hyundai Santa Fe, one is a 4-wheel drive Limited, and the other a 2-wheel drive Calligraphy. Given their similarities, my review comments apply to each of them. Overall they drive comfortably. My family enjoys the many safety and comfort conveniences. However, the four drivers that use these vehicles all agree that these vehicles have common issues that can be improved on. They are as follows: The leather seats are nicely designed but they are not very comfortable on long journeys due to there “stiff feel”. A softer foam/spring cushion would be welcomed. Illumination of the dashboard should be brighter, this includes the illumination for the Head Up Display. Better illumination would be helpful for older folks that are in their “mellowing” years. Secondly, the display that is activated when signaling a turn is partially blocked by the steering wheel and it would be more useful if the image was displayed on the larger navigation display. Third, there is a very uncomfortable buffeting of wind and vibration, is felt inside the vehicle if any of the rear windows are opened by themselves. The only way to keep this from occurring is to open other windows or the sun roof. This situation is very unnerving. Last but not least, the MPG is terrible. Both vehicles drive mostly highway miles and on the average each is getting less than 21mpg. Which with current technology they should be getting closer to 30mpg.
