Lovely until it exploded with no warning
Let me first start by saying that I am a big car enthusiast and my vehicle choices are carefully selected before making a purchase. I was very excited when I bought my 2025 Hyundai Santa Cruz limited new from the showroom. The truck did everything I needed to do: great gas mileage, practical for calling my family around, and small truck use. I had big plans to take the vehicle camping later this year and on some road trips.
However, the vehicle exploded with me in it with no warning, became fully engulfed in flames and nearly killed me. No check engine light, no warnings, just an explosion lots of smoke and flames. At the time of the incident the vehicle was only at 7800 miles and had been serviced before even needed.
The experience left me terrified for my life, deep emotional drama, and fear of one of my biggest passions: cars.
Incident is currently being handled, but I don't think that the trauma will ever be overcome or fairly compensated. There was a chance my daughter could have been in the car with me and we both could have lost our lives. Alternatively, if the vehicle was in my garage, I could have lost my entire home, all my belongings, and my cats.
This incident has left me terrified of not just Hyundai's, but vehicles in general.
