Not up to my expectations.

When I first seen the Santa Ctuz I fell in love with the design, reminded me of the old El Camino. After a lot of consideration I purchased one. Little did I know how unhappy I would be. This vehecle has to have the cheapest tires on the market. In the first 14 months I have had 4 flat tires. Its not the area I drive either, one near home in Palm Bay, FL. One near Daytona Beach, FL, one in Miami, FL and the last in Tallahassee, FL. I drove my previous vehecle 11 years with one flat. On one instance I used the spare tire ( All others I was able to air up the tire and take it to a dealer for repair.) and the Santa Cruz electronics went absolutely nuts because I had an odd sized tire on it. Its not the costs, its minimal, its the inconvenience. Another major thing, I had an overheated warning on I-95, just outside Melbourne, FL. Waited 2 hours for Hyundai roadside service, very dangerous to wait on the shoulder of this major inerstate. Turns out something had went through the openings on the grill and punctured the radiator. Warranty would not cover it, $2000.00 + an Uber to get home, dealer would not give me a loaner. After about five weeks of dealing with Hyundai, no luck. It is absolutely Hyundai's poor design that caused this problem. I am in the process of trying to find a vehicle to replace it and it will definitely be the last time I ever own a Hyundai or promote them in any way. Dealership customer service satisfaction, none.

Fun to drive and a delight to own

When I decided to down size from a full size pickup to a smaller and more manageable unit the Hyundai Santa Cruz caught my attention with its style and features. It handles superbly and is quite fuel efficient .

Great. Great pickup, ride, etc.

My minimum characters is 200? Why is there a minimum.??? This makes no sense. The Santa Cruz is awesome. I highly recommend it.! Ride is great. Handling is great. The turbo power is awesome. This should make up for the 200 minimum.

very good all in all. stylish and comfortable. lots of features. it would be better though if there are additional charging ports and cup holders for the back seats. and built-in dash cameras (front and back).

I am very disappointed in my purchase. I have nothing but exterior problems from day one. I've had my Santa Cruz for 12wks. 6 of those weeks it's been in the shop and has to go back in again. DISAPPOINTED

Poor workmanship on repairs

Bought vehicle in Feb of 2025, vehicle has been in the shop for 6wks. 4wks was because of hyundai poor repairs. Got vehicle back and it's still not right. Have to put vehicle back in repair shop again.

I have enjoyed driving this vehicle.

For me the Santa Cruz is perfect size truck. It drives like an SUV and is easy to park and haul smaller items. Gets good gas mileage. The rest if this information is so I can get to 200 characters to submit this review.

Small appearance with a big heart

I am highly satisfied with the fuel efficiency of my Hyundai Santa Cruz, which allows me to tow my trailer and four-wheeler without any difficulties. We have driven to Arkansas and have encountered no issues with the Santa Cruz maintaining its capabilities.

Powerful and fun to drive with the 2.5 turbo,

I live in the Rocky Mountains and it had plenty power over the mountain passes and corners with ease. The comfort drive mode is nice and the self adjusting speed control put my mind at ease with the speed limits. I am constantly asked about it when people see it and I give it a high recommendation.

Love the vehicle. Experience with dealership very poor.

Vehicle prep for delivery poor. Vehicle did not come with certain features that were advertised on dealer's website for that specific vehicle. Oil change service very sloppy. Love vehicle, lousy dealership.

Very Happy w/ Santa Cruz

I am very happy with the Santa Cruz. My only complaint is the prepayment for any service visits. They are trying to push them out to 7,000 miles instead of 3,000 to 3,500. Just very frustrating to have the Hyundai service department whine and complain when I schedule my appointments.

Gas mileage lower than expected between two drivers

Not happy with dealer net work. Told I may have an oil leak. Called local dealer explained to service dept possible problem. They asked if I bought car there. Replied no. They immediately said they could not look at car for 3 to 4 weeks. My opinion if you travel or going to move this car brand may not be for you.

it is a very convenient vehicle. Has great horse power, maneuverability, the locking bed cover is a awesome idea including the space under the back deck for a ice chest or even storage. The App having a life time usage is really one of the best items.

I love the car but transmission and car lock could use work

I hate the fact that the car does not lock on its own. There are also too many instances when I lean against a counter or something and it hits my keys and unlocks the car. The phone app is nearly unusable for walking up to the car and unlocking it. Tesla's app is substantially better. The transmission only works in normal mode. The other modes make the transmission extremely jerky and the car does not accelerate well during low speeds, there is a huge delay in power then it all of the sudden kicks into gear and goes. Not smooth at all. It is only smooth under constant acceleration. Also the ventilating seats could be more powerful. In the summer they basically stay in high speed the whole time because the CFM is so low.

I LOVE my truck!

I have wanted to own a truck for as long as I can remember, and I am thrilled to own my Santa Cruz! Great style and a peppy engine in the limited edition. Comfortable front bucket seats that are heated/cooled. Bose sound system puts out clear, pure sounds. Navigation is great and allows for updates. Overall a great value for the money!

Vehicle "ok", Taylor Hyundai not so much

Fine overall. Drive it little. Tailgate only opens with fob. Taylor attempted to fix. I wanted to leave it but was told courtesy shuttle would not take me to my home 23 miles away, so I had to leave .Under warranty. Cortland was service writer. I was not told this by Toledo office where I bought it. Need addressed.

Enjoyable and reliable

Nice little truck. Wanted a smaller vehicle with versatility of I like that I can transport items for home repair but still have the feel of a SUV. My only complaint is gas mileage and that the gps constantly alerts me that the wrong way is detected check driving directions at an intersection that has never been one way in the 50 some years that I have lived in the area.

I really like my Santa Cruz, I’m an old guy and I wanted the safety features. For the money my SEL should have front collision avoidance, it doesn’t. And it should have the 360 degree camera, it doesn’t. My 22 Outlander had them and I miss them, and it was less money. The hood latch keeps falling off day after I bought it. No help from the dealer. The dash always has dust on the screen and odometer, too much black. I like that this has a real transmission, my outlander had a rubber band transmission and it went out at 16807 miles. Overall I like the Santa Cruz so far. I have a little over 9k miles in a little over a year. Great gas mileage. I like ke the cluster turning colors, the red is sharp. Also love ke the warranty. Thanks for building such a nice truck for an old farm boy!

My Best & safe fun truck

I feel safe in it & I Like the way it handles. I sit high enough to see around me. I like all the electronics on my dash. I love my free blue link. I find it easy to handle & love the stylish look.

Great vehicle except one thing.

Love the Santa Cruz. Rides nice,good gas mileage and peppy. Excellent features. Great interior and comfortable. Would definitely buy again. My only complaint is the wipers. When driving at 40 or above, the wiper fluid barely makes it onto the windshield and barely clears the window so you can see. This is especially bad when driving in winter condtions.
