This is the worst car I have ever owned

I enjoy the look of this car but other than that it never seems to just work. There’s always some random thing that’s popping up with a notification to say it’s turned off. Driving an EV is cool but I still expect the car to just work the same way a normal car would just work but it doesn’t

Well built car, but tech implementation isn't the best.

Our Ioniq6 SEL AWD feels solid, drives well, and has been reliable for the first 14 months of ownership. It has plenty of power, well damped suspension that provides a good ride yet firm enough to be a bit sporty. On the other hand, the seats aren't very comfortable for drives longer than 30-45 minutes, and much of the tech implementation just misses the mark compared to other modern vehicles. The review camera is differicult to see at night, as it gets washed out from the taillights, the lane centering can't be trusted, as it won't notify you if it can't see the lane edges, the android auto connection is unreliable, as is the keyless door lock/unlock feature. For a car that has a lot of tech, it seems as if competitor's cars weren't thoroughly studied and the product was rushed to market.

Great Car - fun to drive!

This is my first EV - quite a learning curve! But after having driven it for 2 1/2 months, including one cross-country trip, I can finally say I feel very comfortable with it. I particularly like being able to charge it at home at night when electricity rates are super cheap. I also like the great acceleration and the way it never hesitates, not even slightly, when the accelerator is pressed. It's extremely quiet, I really enjoy the HD radio, hands-free phonecalls and the ability to run my preferred GPS (Waze) on the dashboard.

Love the ride. Current options are good. I added 220V charging system at home location. Charges much faster than 110V.

Great car, love the range, a lot of tech

This is a great car, I love the handling, sleek look, and range. The reason for 4/5 stars is due to the overwhelming amount of tech/alarms/notifications built in. Of course, I appreciate the safety aspect, but some of the notifications and reliance on the computer system is overkill.

Everything I wanted, mostly.

This is a great car. My partner bought the ionic five a few months earlier. I think it’s a really good car but I will say because they on six is more of a sedan. It rides a little bit smoother than the five. The mileage is great often the miles I drive is greater than the loss of miles in my range which is really pleasing. It handles well it stops well accelerates really well. More comfortable than the Mustang MachE I get from work. Tiny complaints: With all the great things it has in the interior particularly the heated seats. I don’t understand why the steering wheel wasn’t hit. Couldn’t have cost that much to make it a standard item. And I wish there was better integration with Apple maps. I have yet to to figure out how to get the map to use the whole screen like the native navigation app does. Paul know I’d buy this car again in a heartbeat and I’d recommend it to my friends.

Great car, mediocre UI

Add physical buttons Allow more customization to the dashboard (doesn't even have the time!) And speed, others are sometimes hard to see based on positioning

Love the Ioniq 6!

This is the second Ioniq 6 I've had and I still love it. It's fun to drive, spacious and has been reliable in over 2 years of driving experience.

Excellent driving characteristics and range. Quiet and smooth

We have almost 21000 miles on the car already, including one February (2025) trip from Minnesota to California, and another February (2026) trip from Minnesota to Florida. Maintenance has been nearly zero; literally a tire rotation, cabin filter, and washer fluid.

Strangers have commented on my car.

There is a vast improvement in styling of Hyundai over earlier models. With special rebates the price was very good for such a highly rated EV.

Annoying false positives in safety features

Nice looking car on paper. "Safety features" are very annoying. Collision detection has a bunch of false positives and resulted in the car just stopping. Where I drive, single lanes turn to two lanes often. Whenever this happens, the car thinks that I'm unsafely merging lanes and would beep. This is a part of my normal route so I hear this constantly.

Save the planet

I was happy to finally get an EV, in town it is awesome and charging at home with the 110 outlet works fine. The car itself is awesome. Weird issue with the trim on the dashboard. It has silver trim that reflects badly on the windshield, distracting at the least. Also the lane assist system was horrible. I was between a median and a semi truck when it started weaving side to side badly. I felt that I lost control of the car for a minute. I pulled over as fast as I could and turned that feature off.
