Excellent EV, much more like a traditional car than a Tesla

The most comfortable car I've ever owned. Fast, efficient, convenient, reasonably priced.

Is it a Porsche?

Great style! Many have asked me if the car is a Porsche. Very comfortable ride front and back. Handles extremely well and is very quiet. Could reduce the back seating room and expand the trunk some.

I really like my Ioniq 6

There was definitely a learning curve but now I am quite comfortable driving an electric car. Hyundai Ioniq 5 & 6 are great models to have.

2025 Ioniq 6 review

This is my second Ioniq 6. I enjoyed the first and when my lease was about to end a got my second Ioniq 6. However, I recently found out my Bluelink software was never updated from the 2024 edition and I needed to download the update onto a SD card then load it onto my car so I can get automatic updates. Not happy about that. Should have been done prior to me picking up the car. I called the dealership and have scheduled a time [half a day ] for them to do it.

My Ioniq 6 is everything I wanted in an EV

My car has nearly all of the features I wanted and need in an EV. I have had no problems with it and it has performed very well. The car has excellent range. The only negative is someone at Hyundai decided not to continue to sell the 6 in the US. My opinion is this is a mistake.

Excellent

Poor Daniel Evelyn wants to go to a school in Ohio $80,000 a year. They don’t give scholarships. They are spoiling their children senior next year and Aubree is doing nothing. She works at home doesn’t seem like anything. No one she went to which is bad cause I didn’t go to church therefore doesn’t go to church now yeah kids nowadays far away from the church real fast don’t they? Influence.

Great so far

So far so good. So far everything works just as it should, but it's too early (2000 miles) to say anything about build quality or reliability. (Those are required questions so I just gave each a "5", meaning "neutral" since I lack the information to answer them.) The Ioniq 6 is quite efficient, but I wish it was even better, and it it is deeply annoying that Hyundai forces the buyer to take the much less efficient 20" wheels on the higher trims. Other than that, I like the car a lot.

My Ionic 6

Only 2 things we wish were different. 1. We wish the steering wheel moved in and out. 2. Would like to be able to lock the car with it still running for our dogs comfort.

Thoughts so far after 13 months of ownership

Extremely smooth, comfortable, quiet EV with standout looks that many people find better in person than in photos. You can make this car push you into your seat to 60 in the low 4 second range and be fun-to-drive along with optional spaceship sounds and with handling dynamics that suv's and most cars don't do or you can drive is like a standard, everyday commuter vehicle. Fast charging is a huge plus and my typical 300-325 mile range has been more than enough to make it to charging stations and do road trips with no range anxiety.

Cool, but has problem

I'm an IT geek, so I love all the features. But be careful on road trips. The mileage estimate is always trying to guess mileage, and doesn't do very well keeping up. I charged up fully before a long trip (266 miles one way). Said I had 490 miles. However, I was driving with A/C on. Ran out of charge before I even got there. Charged back up a little, but couldn't fully since we had an appointment. Got to the destination with only 30 miles left. But when we tried to navigate to the nearest EV station, the navigator kept glitching and resetting. Found out than on a lot of models (I have Ioniq 6) that when the charge gets low, the ICCS can fault and things go wonky. Terrible to happen when you're on the road and needing a charge. Navigated using a cellphone fortunately. Lesson is don't trust the miles especially if you want to use the A/C. Also, be wary that if your miles get low the Ioniq5 & 6 often get crazy and unreliable. Not the best for long road trips.

I love the styling and overall performance of my vehicle. Wish it was being offered in 2028! I am not a big fan of the boxy styling of the new model SUV's being offered!

Love the car but had the ICCU fail at appx 12000 mile

Had to be towed to the nearest dealer.Was at the dealers for a month. After a week they got us a loaner . Other than that we love the car. Just a little less confident on the reliability.

Could be great car, but certain decisions cheapen value proposition

Ride, performance, range, and handling are excellent. Minor items that detract from value are a navigation system that does not upgrade, limited options for controlling the unlocking behavior of the doors, heated seats are great, but no heated steering wheel without buying unnecessary extras, and major problem, is the poor design of the ICCU unit leading to consistent failures. Dealers in rural areas are not all electrified and therefore a failure of the ICCU meeting may mean a 100 mile tow in my situation. I can live with this, but it is a deal breaker for my spouse.

Not worth it in 2026

Drives great, very comfortable interior. Plug in Android system is extremely finicky leading to a poor daily experience (wired connection not stable leading to Android Auto displaying/not displaying throughout a car ride), system updates are not automatically pushed to vehicles all of the time (and once led to having to purchase an external usb drive, downloading the updates, and then plugging the usb drive into the car to get the new updates), and finally a promised adapter for charging to work with Tesla superchargers has never materialized over 1.5 years after promised due to supply chain issues.
