great EV with one big flaw

The Ioniq6 does everything well and has excellent range and power. I am disappointed that Hyundai chose to "orphan" the car in 2025, so I do have some concerns about future support via software updates and dealer service. The big flaw is the ICCU unit which has failed in many cars, including ours. There were a lot of hoops to jump through to get reimbursement for a rental car and a replacement ICCU took 2 weeks which is fast compared to other owners' experiences. Hyundai's reputation has suffered greatly as they have never engineered an appropriate fix to the unit. Instead, they over an extended warranty on future replacement units. I have never seen an explanation as to why an improved ICCU couldn't be manufactured and offered to those owners that have purchased the cars that could be affected. That would be the solution to the problem that would preserve loyalty to the car and brand.

Awesome car only if you dont care about cheap build

The car's amazing styling and super spacious interior had every single person who sat in it for the first time say wow. Its fun to drive in the sport mode. The infotainment software has good UX, buttons are cleanly placed and I love how storage has been top of the mind with the center console design. The things I hate: Almost $48k car and yet they used cheapest glass for the windows they possibly could, no insulation what so ever from the heat, from freeway noise. The mileage rating is way off. I was only able to record 80% of the claim. Highest recorded miles on full charge in city driving (240) and claim for 19" is 305 miles. Freeway range is even worse and stands somewhere between 200 - 220 miles.

Hyundai 2023 Ioniq 6 review

Very Good value. The car has many useful features is very comfortable to ride in. The ability to use it to provide power to TV’s. lights, CPAC , routers, refrigerator and small appliances during power outages has been extremely good to have.

Loss of mileage

I charge to 80/20. After updates and 2 yrs my 80% chg has gone from 260 to 220 miles and less in the winter. Otherwise I love this car

Great Car

This is a great looking, all electric, reliable vehicle. The interior is done right. It has great pickup. If they were to make it again with longer range I would buy another one.

Love my IQ 6

My car is super quiet and comfortable. Just took it for my first long trip of 1300 miles round trip. I wish that Hyundai had a better navigation system that told me where charging stations are that suit/fit my car: CSS1 chargers. Twice I used apps that showed such chargers, only to show up and they were all Tesla style. I don't really want to spend extra bucks for an adapter, but I will before the next trip.

Love our Ionic6! Won't go back, so here are some improvements

Our I6 has performed flawlessly for the last two years now at 26K miles. It's our only car now (retired) and we drive it around town every day, long trips every few months. No problem leaving it for weeks if we go overseas. Quiet, comfortable. We love it. Only one problem, now solved: Hyundai replaced 12V battery twice in first few months of ownership, we figured out that the Bluelink App was draining it and changed settings, not a hint of a problem since. Limited trunk is impractical. Spacious back seat is an okay trade off.

First EV and NOT Disappointed

I had been driving a 3/4 ton diesel truck 50 miles a day to and from work, and the fuel costs just weren't making since anymore. We still need the truck for 5th wheel towing and weekend projects but the IONIQ 6 is the perfect solution for a low maintenance, fun, daily commuter!

I'm in love with my car

I have had a wonderful experience with my Ioniq 6. It is fast, sleek, quiet, and efficient. For all of my day-to-day driving, I have no range anxieties, and I have been able to take it on longer trips by finding out where the fast chargers are. One oversight is that the speakers on all but the "limited" version are not very good, but this is easily remedied by ordering good ones from Crutchfield and installing them. using Geek Squad / Best Buy.

IONIQ 6 is Great but Compromised

The car has been fun to own and drive, but it is a product of its time and is not a car that I can recommend to everyone. There are a lot of features that are missing or incomplete compared to other brands. However, the core driving experience is really great and that is what makes the car worth keeping. If certain features were implemented into this car and the ICCU problem was definitively resolved, then this car would be a solid recommendation. I would not consider buying another Hyundai EV due to the large exterior changes made in the current generation lineup and the ongoing ICCU issue. I would also likely swap to another brand’s EV if my current IONIQ 6 became inoperable.

Practical and sensible.

I love the comfort and sensibility built into this car. The only negative is the infotainment system. It reflects technology of the 80’s. Not responsive and frankly dated.

Great car until it was totaled

This car was really terrific. Seats were a little narrow, but comfortable enough. I had the SEL trar wheel drive. Not the fastest ev off the line, but plenty fast. We had gotten into an accident in this car and it was totaled unfortunately.
