2024 Ionic 6 Good but not ready for prime time

The car is very responsive both cornering, handling and acceleration. It's fun to drive. The battery and charging situation is disappointing as the advertised charging rate and range are stated for the most ideal circumstances possible. Too far from the real world numbers especially in cool to cold weather. Tried once to take on 240 mile trip......it failed the experiment.Also, the front controls are too far forward forcing the driver (and passenger for that matter) to uncomfortably lean forward and reach out to use. They are also too small for ease of use while the car is in motion. Lack of bluetooth connection to my phone is VERY frustrating. The door handle design is very awkward also......the open/lock "button" seems to work intermittently.

Great EV milage but insulation and menu interface could be better

I only put in about 9,600 miles in 19 months so it was a short lease. Pros- mileage for the entire lease was about 4.5m/kwh, much better than a similarly eqipped Ioniq 5 (2.9). - very nic handling over most SUVs and speed - subjectively, looks like a peasant Porsche - Great packaging in the area of the center console, with lots of open space for storage - easily putting down the rear seats, comparing to most cars/SUVs Cons - passenger side window insulation was poor, comparing to the river side and the Ioniq 5 - too few buttons on the dash and too many layers of screens to get to the desired feature (KISS) - the key fob sucks (too big) Overall, I've no problem with the vehicle in 19 months

Great driving experience and state of the art technology.

Glad I jumped into the electric car market. It has set a new bar for driving fun. Once the range increases even further, it will be a home run. I still limit trips to within the city to avoid the hassle of finding charging stations.

Large depreciation in the 1st year

I paid $55k for my ioniq 6 and a year later and 3500 miles Carmax/Tesla would only offer me $31k, a $24k depreciation. Never had a car this bad. Plus the dealership didn't reset my service warning after drop off. Gonna take another trip to service to fix. Plus it has a nuisance Consider taking a Break warning that I can't shut off.

I like the power and handling I think the sensor that unlocks the door could also be programed to lock it when I walk away

Great car, but feels like a time bomb

Love my car. Great efficiency, roomy enough for 2 adults, two teenages and a dog. Would make the same choice again, but the ICCU situation makes me nervous that I'll find myself stranded on the road some day while on a road trip.

High maintenance cost

Ridiculous that an expensive and possibly unnecessary alignment is needed every 15000 miles per dealer.

Outstanding Electric Car

Love the car and all it does. Easy to charge. Inside is we put together. Car even has a plug in the back to plug in a device. I definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for an electric car that wont break the bank.

We love our Ioniq 6!

The Ioniq 6 is perfect for our Florida lifestyle. Most of our social life, errands, and medical care is within a 30 mile radius and we have a Level II charger in our garage. Our longer trips - such as to Miami or Tampa - are well within travel range from home. Once in the larger cities, there are plenty of charging stations to be found. The cabin is quiet and the car handles and rides beautifully. The technology available within and to the vehicle provide much more capability than we will ever need, but we appreciate the endless options available.

Great car!

I love this car on so many levels. It is so great to drive - outstanding pickup but also very smooth on the road. The car is also very roomy, much more so than comparable sized cars I have owned in the past. Many passengers comment on that as soon as they sit down. While the charging can be an issue with the unreliability/availability of high speed chargers, I love having an electric car and have no issues with local driving.

THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED WITH A MESSAGE " CHECK BATTERY ", AND LOST ALL POWER. CURRENTLY IT HAS BEEN TOWED TO THE DEALER. WAITING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG.

Review

I'm enjoying the car very much. It handles well, it charges above stated limits frequently, it feels solid. The lane holding aid is a little balky - sometimes feels like it's taking control from me. The rear view camera while in reverse can take longer than I'd expect to revert to normal screen after switching into drive. Driver-side visibility isn't great, though of course it has blind spot awareness. I've yet to get used to the window controls on the middle console but that's not big deal.

The Best Car I have ever owned/lease but there are some minor flaws

The 2024 IONIQ 6 is the best car that I have evern owned (well leased) but there are some basic flaws. The cupholder is horrible and there are so many times my drink fell off and spilt all over the place. It's a really smooth drive and it's always the fastest when I am at a charging station. MY biggest frustrating and complain is the door locks. I don't know how many times I swore I locked the door but when I came back it was unlocked. Why doesn't it self lock? It does when you drive. My previous vehicle had it. It's so bad that my car has gotten broken into many times. I have to park ont he street and I always turn and press lock. I've had everything in my trunk stolen (mainly old jacket) and the front., Plese fix this basic thing. Another issue is the local Hyundai dealer. The one I first went to closed so I now go to another. Problem is they are horrible. There's no good place to sit and they always try to upsel you. They tried to make me change my air filter for $153 and it took them 5+ hours to tell them that. I assumed Hyndai would be honest and lovely but no this dealership is awful.
