Our 2026 Hyundai Ioniq 5 is highly praised!

It was a "smart buy" that combines a spacious, comfortable interior with a engaging driving experience, making it a positive alternative entering the full EV segment. There's clearly more innovation to come in the next three years, so leasing was the best/smart decision.

Ioniq5 Limited - Bells & Whistles

Love my 5 Limited! It’s got all the bells and whistles plus more! I enjoy the acceleration, modern amenities such as self parking, basically self driving, driver’s seat leg rest, moon roof, right/left blind spot cameras on screen -fantastic features!

Comfortable and Modern EV, but Needs Refinement

I currently drive both the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, and overall they are great electric vehicles. However, the semi-autonomous driving feels unstable on slight curves, which could be improved. Also, the front light cover material scratches too easily. Despite these issues, I am generally satisfied with the IONIQ lineup

Proud Ioniq 5 Owner

Look around a lot and finally settled on the Ioniq 5. Sure was nice to make the deal in my city (Cathedral City). Pleasant leasing experience. We've dropped in to the dealer for a few technology assistance questions and each person was pleasant and willing to help. Found the entire of the car to be much bigger than expected. Gets great mileage and looks sharp.

Ioniq 5 - Very nice, but needs further refinement

Glad I got it, and I like it a lot. However, it has several annoying issues. Overall, I can put up with them because of how good the rest of the car is.

Fast charge and fun ride

Hyundai listened to customer feedback from earlier IONIQ5 models and several upgrades make for an improved experience in the 2026 IONIQ5. Having the wireless charging more accessible in the center console plus wireless ApplePlay leads to an improved driver experience with connecting as easy as simply setting the phone in the console tray. Back window wiper and a rear view video make looking back much easier, even with the winter storm slush. Still quick to charge 20%-80% at the fast-chargers which is a major advantage on long drives.

Poor build quality, materials

Lots of headliner steaks and rattles, dash and door. Suspension good but not great, bit stiff and large bumps jarring. Hard plastic inside. Also bit noisy on hiway. Corners well and has very good range and rooms inside.

Great vehicle that could be awesome with a few changes/updates

Review is based on the 2026 Limited variant: I moved into the Ioniq 5 from a Tesla Model 3 Performance. The Ioniq is significantly quieter (road and wind), smoother on the road, and has creature comfort features almost everyone would love: heated/ventilated seats, heated steering wheel, fully reclining driver seat with leg rest, super comfortable seats, heads-up display, fantastic audio, 360 camera, and lane keeping are only some of the highlights. You also have a clear view to the left and right when changing lanes, so you don't need to worry about super-obstructive B and C pillars. The huge glass sunroof with an infinitely adjustable sunshade is a nice touch! The rear seats recline (and move forward and backward) to a level that passengers would easily be able to take a nap (so long as you remove the rear cargo cover). The windows roll up and down very fast. The rear hatch door opens fairly quickly and stops with only a slight tug in case it gets too close to an obstacle. The multiple levels of regeneration will make driving in town and on the interstate a breeze, also keeping your efficiency high. Overall I highly recommend the Ioniq 5 Limited as an EV.

Loving my Ionic

I’m very pleased with my vehicle and would recommend that other people give an electric car a try. They’re fun to driver, very quiet cost much less than gasoline and you really feel good driving it.
